Not an 'official visit' but I thought I'd post this in here anyway.

Quote:
The Pittsburgh Steelers were among a large group of NFL teams who attended a somewhat unusual workout on Tuesday. Virginia Commonwealth basketball player Mo Alie-Cox has decided to try his hand at the NFL, so he wants to show off his skills as a tight end.
http://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2017/0 ... -alie-cox/

Also there's this from NFL network about the youngster.

Quote:
An NFL spokesman confirmed that Alie-Cox was "eligible for the 2016 NFL Draft and has remained a free agent since the conclusion of that draft." Therefore, he won't be in the 2017 draft -- and can sign immediately. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... free-agent

Quote:
Alie-Cox was encouraged to explore the possibility two years ago by Cowboys TE Jason Witten.

NFL teams thus far @ Mo Alie-Cox's workout: Bears, Lions, Dolphins, Vikings, 49ers, Browns, Patriots, Redskins, Chiefs and Steelers https://twitter.com/LaneCtvsports/statu ... lie-cox%2F

6-45, 262, 86 2/8 wing, 11 1/8 hand, 35 7/8 arm, 4.75 40, 35.5 vert, 10 2 broad, 4.45 shuttle, 7.25 3 cone https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status ... lie-cox%2F

He picked a bad year to come out-- there are so many talented, lesser known, more athletic, more experienced TE types. His wingspan sounds like something he can win with, though.

Apparently he's a converted WR. I have honestly never heard of the guy.

MVP of the Tropical Bowl All-Star game... 3 TDs, including a deflection on a Hail Mary. Lacks the quicks to be a real force as a move TE but he's not too bad as a UDFA project.

Added 2 to the "Unconfirmed" list.

Apparently Davis Webb (QB from Cal) has a visit scheduled.

Treyvon Hester is a Nose Tackle out of Toledo. He's from Penn Hills, so it will be a local visit.

Apparently Treyvon Hester had a very impressive workout last week in Toledo. 13 teams represented. He had labrum surgery in December so didn't participate at the combine.
4.8 40 yd, 31.5 vert, good shuttle time as well. He's getting some hype late in the process.

B2B's boy Pita in town. I'm sure he's going to be pumped. Don't know much about Kallon or Gamble.

I thought you meant Pita is going to be pumped-- but you meant me! Yes, I'm more relieved that at least they are considering him.

Kallon is expected to convert to OT, so he's come to the right place-- we are fast becoming OT conversion Inc. Gamble broke his hip at some point-- I wonder if he, too, is on the OT conversion train-- extremely long w big wingspan... but that works for 5 tech, too.

Just thinking aloud:

With the addition of AluAlu, and the draft interest in DL of various shapes and sizes, and soon to be bare cupboard at OLB, could they be considering the move to a 4 man front?

Maybe a Chris Wormley early and a Keionta Davis/Pat Gamble/bigger edge later, rather than chasing 3-4 OLB unicorns like Porter/Harrison? May fit the depth guys like Walton and Maxey as well.

We're not missing Wormley-- we're missing the 4-3 Edge guys with speed and length and 3 techs . Difference between Wormley and Tuiit/Heyward is marginal. They're all strongside DE or 1 tech in a 4-3.

Let's play...

LDE: Tuitt
3 tech: Heyward
1 tech: Hargrave
RDE: Chickillo
LEO: Dupree
MLB: Williams
Will: Shazier

Ideally, I think you need more at RDE, Shaz is wasted at Will, and Heyward isn't the most dynamic 3 tech. Would rather have Hargrave as the 3 tech but then, no place for Heyward. So..... drafting Barnett, Lawson or Jerrad Davis/Raekwon would seem to indicate move to 4-3 base. Not sure there are too many dynamic interior 4-3 DL in this draft.

All of the d-linemen they're looking at seem to be late round development projects. I wouldn't read too much into it.

At this point, we might as well run with some unsubstantiated rumors.

Brad Kaaya was allegedly in Pittsburgh around the days of Dan Rooney's funeral: http://www.steelersdepot.com/2017/04/miami-qb-brad-kaaya-likely-headed-pittsburgh-pre-draft-visit/

Some fan sites have claimed Raekwon McMillan also came in: http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2017-nfl-mock-drafts-profiles-video-clips-highlights-steelers-analysis-breakdowns-news/2017/3/22/15002324/steelers-begin-process-of-scheduling-private-nfl-draft-prospect-visits-raekwon-mcmillan-chris-godwin
