An interesting story has been brewing in New York. I have been keeping tabs on the Knicks all year.

Last night in the 4th quarter fans at Madison Square Garden were chanting Por-zin-gis... Por-zin-gis. Amazing stuff considering the boos when he was drafted.

It has been impressive that right out of the gate Porzingis contributed to his team. He showed from the get go he was not a bust.

I have been surprised how comfortable he looks guarding point guards. I have been surprised at how comfortable he looks mixing it up inside.

This kid seems very likeable and has some charisma. It appears to be easy for his teammates to pull for him.

Five assists last night from Carmelo. He seems to have bought in to both Porzingis and what Jackson/Fisher want from him (Carmelo). It appears Carmelo's days of black hole ball stopper might (finally) be behind him.

Porzingis has shown a slick post up move. If he is ever going to be a dominant player, most likely his bread and butter is going to come from a post game of some stripe.

One negative... Porzingis needs to improve his shooting efficiency. He has not shot the ball well enough overall. A lot of that is due to shooting 34 3's at .265%.

Last night though he was a beast...

29 PTS 11 REB 10-17 FGA-M including 2-2 from 3 in 31 minutes.

... making him the youngest Knick ever to have a 25/10 game. Pretty amazing stuff in only his 12th game.

He's the real deal. To have that size and athleticism is scary, and he has range.

The Knicks may sneak into the playoffs and be dangerous too. Here is how I think the East will finish up the regular season.

1. Cavs
2. Hawks
3. Bulls
4. Heat
5.Hornets
6. Celtics
7. Raptors
8. Wizards

The West

1. Warriors (can they get to 72 wins?
2. Thunder
3. Spurs
4. Mavericks
5. Grizzlies
6. Clippers
7. Nuggets
8. Kings (I think they will make a run)

Last go round for my Thunder, hope they can get it done....

Doesn't seem like anyone even talking about one of the most overrated athletes of my lifetime: Dwight Howard. The franchise killer has claimed Kevin McHale as another victim. What is McHale thinking to himself when he looks at Howard? I'm guessing "You fucking stiff, if I had your body I'd have averaged 50/20, why cant you play???" is about right......

McHale firing is idiotic and I love his wife's reaction to it. The guy went to the fucking conference championship last year against maybe the toughest field ever.

Red Auerbach and Coach K and John Wooden combined couldn't coach any team plagued by both the Howard effect and the Kardashian effect.

I think I was the only Knicks fan who didn't boo Porzingis. He was actually the guy I wanted them to draft.

Much less likely you whiff on an international pick these days

NBA has figured out how to evaluate these dudes and the leagues they play in

Darko days are over

Golden State may break the Bulls record of most wins.

I still have faith that a healthy Cavs team can beat em in a 7 game series. It would be a battle.

Porzingis blocked 7 shots last night.

24 Pts 14 REB 7 BLK

The last time a 20 yr old posted this stat line was in the 1992-93 season.

His shooting %'s were excellent...

8-12 FGM-A 2-3 3PM-A 6-6 FTM-A

He also had 2 assists.

Knicks are 8-6 and currently 8th in the east.

Health permitting, no one is going to touch Golden State this year. I watched the Suns game, last night, the Suns played well enough to beat 80 pct of the NBA and got blown out.

I have never seen anything like Curry. If you take away his three he shoots 67 percent in the paint.

The only thing the other team can do is rough him up and hope he gets hurt. He is unstoppable and the other team has no one near his skill level.

I refuse to believe they will continue to shoot this way as a team.

Healthy OKC can beat them, Cavs would have beaten them with either Love or Irving available

GS is actually favored in every game this year except two road games in SA.

Their point diff per game is 16 and Cleveland is 6. And they are bench starters frequently in the 4th Q.

Someone said that Curry may be both MVP and most improved this year. As crazy as it sounds it may be true.

This is the best team I've seen since the 95-96 Bulls.

They've got Utah tonight. I predict Utah will give them their best game and lose by twenty.

Steve Kerr: " youngest 1st year coach to win an NBA championship only to find out the next year that he apparently doesn't matter if he's the coach or not" award

GS may be able to win with Mike Tomlin, Les Steckel, Randy Pfund or Barry Switzer as HC.

Though I do not doubt Kerr's three point skills have helped the team. There are about seven guys on that time that can make it rain from deep.

Hayward is a pimp......

He would have had a National Championship if the refs didn't call charges every time a Blue Devil flops.....

Curry is a superstar.

You are underestimating past great teams at their peak.

Peak Spurs with prime Duncan probably would have beaten these Warriors. They would have put Bruce Bowen on Curry (at times) who would have slowed him down.

Peak Lakers with Shaq and Kobe would have beaten these Warriors.

Peak Lakers with Kobe and Shaq didn't really beat the Kings and got a gift from refs.

I thought the Spurs teams of the past 16-17 were often awesome, but GS now has even odds to break 70 wins.

But you are correct that Bruce Bowen (or is that J.B. Smoove) was a great defender.

The Spurs of old with prime Duncan, prime Ginobili, and Bruce Bowen were at their peak.

The Warriors could not match up with peak Shaq Kobe Lakers.

The 2nd year of the Lakers 3peat the Lakers lost a total of 1 game the entire post season.

I expected the Warriors to win a ton of rs games this year.

Rockets have had a disaster of a start. Clippers have struggled with the changes to their team. Grizzlies started slowly. Pelicans had a disaster of a start. These are some of the teams who when the Warriors played them were not playing well.

Don't get me wrong, what the Warriors are doing is impressive but let's see how it all plays out.

Can't win with Howard, Rockets are done

I refuse to buy into the Grizzlies anymore, they always flame out despite having all the apparent parts. Kind of remind me of old Blazers teams.....

Spurs or OKC will take out the Warriors....

I'm guessing the Sixers are playing for Ben Simmons? Maybe that and trade Embiid for point help and PF? Interesting deal on how KJ got out of Philly, good for him.....

Speaking of OKC, is Kendrick Perkins still in the league?

Yes, he plays for the Pelicans.......at least that explains their horrific start......

If you 6'11" and can walk you should be able to at least parlay it into 10 years in the league......

Kobe should be thankful Perkins is still in the league. He won't go out as the least productive player in his final year.

His shot chart after the first four games:

At least Kobe has a legit excuse. Dwight Howard is just a stiff.
