Ravens are getting awful thin at key positions. Their fan base has been talking up Dwill as a replacement. Behind that oline I doubt he'd be willing to sign.

Aren't the Ravens on his list of teams he won't sign with?

Now Flacco is out 3-6 weeks with a disk problem in his back.

Link this to the CTE study release. Smart move for someone who does not need football.

Urschel was a JAG no more than that. He got hype due his brilliance at Math which is commendable to say the least. He'll be a loss for depth and as a maybe spot starter.

Ravens are having a amazingly bad off-season:

Orr gone, 1st with long term health issues then when he decided to come back due to a paperwork fuck up.

Pita: yes he is nothing special but he killed Steelers soft as putty zones and had a real knack for finding 1st down marker. He will be a major loss for a QB that needs his blankie.

Tavon Young: was Ravens best CB last season by a considerable distance. Imagine Steelers losing William Gay when he was playing his best football.

Dixon: was the only Raven RB who flashed any big time talent. West is serviceable and then? Jesus what a shit show. Ravens need to grab a FA badly.

Yanda is banged up and expected to miss all of camp. Probably not a big deal but given they're re-building oline (again) can't help plus Yanda is about to turn 33.

TEs: not named Pita are injured (Max Williams could be done), Gilmore is a china doll and Watson is ancient. A 1 drug ban from bye bye NFL is currently their starter: Nick Boyle.

Now Flacco. Back injuries are chronic they don't suddenly disappear with time, they linger, on and on. For a guy with sloppy as fuck mechanics having a bad back may not be a career ender but it is likely beginning of the end.

One thing to remember with Ravens and injuries is Harbaugh. When Perriman initially got hurt as a rookie Harbaugh told everyone it was no biggie he'd be back in week or two. Ravens have a recent history of under-stating how hurt players are; think complete opposite of Pats.

But he was still their starting Center. They have some major holes on that o-line.

Also consider this: Baltimore's top receiving options this year will be Breshad Perriman & Jeremy Maclin - both brand new starters. An extended absence from Flacco could really screw up his chemistry with his receivers early in the season.

It'll be Jensen (another JAG who has been getting destroyed by Pierce). RT likely Hurst (imagine J. Thomas with slightly better feet). LG: Alex Lewis (unproven 4th rounder).

Given Dixon is gone the run game looks a massive issue. It already was with Dixon missing 4 games and Oline rebuild. I will say Wallace is still a decent WR but he is first half of season guy. When it gets colder he tends to disappear. Perriman honestly no clue what to expect. Rats sites and Balt Sun raved about him in shorts but it is in shorts so I tend to ignore that (think how many Steeler Dbs & WRs got raved about in min camps only to disappear once 53 got named). Correa got talked about in def rookie of year terms after shorts practices last season. He of course did a milk carton. BTW he is getting same hype this time.

In first two practices albeit sans Flacco the offense has been so bad it is glaring. Ravens are seriously thinking about bringing in Kap. How they'll fit him under Cap I have no clue (860K room currently).

Humphrey has looked good in shorts.
Rest of rookies haven't done much but it is extremely early.

On injury front: Jefferson got back surgery in off-season and hasn't been able to practice...
Gilmore has a knee injury not sure of severity.
Max Williams is hobbling around practice field
Yanda is still recovering from shoulder surgery
Canady has undisclosed injury
Campanero is hurt ...again.
Flacco expected back in week or so but with Harbaugh's record on injuries who the fuck knows.

Bad luck for the Ravens -- really gives me a warm glow!

Has to be the worst offseason in recent history for any team.

Ah, gotcha. I'll withhold judgement until I see Hurst attempt a box out

Rookie Guard Nico Siracussa running with the first team tore his knee up today. He's done. Being reported ACL, MCL and PCL.

Good lord, did he step on a land mine?

As for Crocket Gillmore, turns out that "meniscus fix" was a torn MCL. He's done for the year.

Breshad Perriman also left practice with a hamstring injury.

Not sure about the land mine. They didn't show how it happened but that wow factor for brutal injury went off in my head too. Just horrible.

Ravens are dropping faster than Balt's Civil War statues.
