I can't believe that Romo would walk away from the chance to make another 20 million this season, wherever he may have ended up.
He doesn't need the money, and his health is a pretty serious issue.
The only reason to keep playing would be for a ring. Is there a serious contender out there that doesn't already have the QB they want? Maybe KC, maybe HOU...anyone else?
I don't Romo's financial status but every week we read about another NFL former star(QB's included) who has gone bankrupt. Point is that walking away from a chance at that kind of money takes a special commitment- and if that is the case with Romo(being financially secure)then good for him.
If he doesn't retire and is traded his contract is worth what, about $19 million this year? Of course the team acquiring him could renegotiate that contract.
Denver could make it work, so could Houston or Cleveland and none of them has a QB of Romo's caliber. All it takes is one.
Then again maybe Romo and his agent explored this avenue and found that no one was willing to take the risk on him and he saw it as a way to move on.
