ESPN is willing to “back up the truck” for Manning, wanting to make a splash in replacing Jon Gruden as the analyst on “Monday Night Football.” Gruden was reportedly the highest-paid ESPN employee, making more than $6.5 million before leaving for a 10-year, $100 million coaching deal with the Raiders. https://nypost.com/2018/02/16/inside-th ... n-manning/
Good for him. Everyone knew he'd be back at some point.

As long as Gruden is gone, they can replace him with PeeWee “fucking” Herman for all I care.

Manning would be very boring. Can you ever remember when he has been animated or shown much emotion for the game. His nasally voice would drive me crazy.

he would be good. Maybe not right away. But he will work hard on the craft. He will study, get feedback, professional coaching, etc. Just like he did with SNL.

There is no doubt Manning will be the smartest guy in the booth

The problem is going to be his "presentation". What people like about Romo is that he doesn't take himself too seriously and seems like he's having fun.

Gruden and Manning are 100% football 100% of the time and if you don't eat sleep breathe it, they come across as smug assholes

Gruden was the biggest ass kiss ever in a booth. He came off as a fanboy jock sniffer more than a smug asshole. Peyton has shown over and over that he can be a guy that doesn't take himself too seriously.
