I miss surfing. I used to surf Newport a bunch back in the day, and then in the South Bay when I worked in Redondo Beach in 06-07. I've surfed here in FL from time to time but it's not the same.

I saw some news footage of the Wedge yesterday. I still can't believe that guys like Christian Fletcher would ride that place stand up. You couldn't pay me to paddle out at that place on any kind of ride.

Fletcher is a MAN.

NSB has been kicking the past few days. Onshore but workable. Today is supposed to be lighter on shore/moderate offshore, sadly I have to work.

I'd like to see some pics of Cortes Bank, or Mav's...You couldn't pay me enough to head out there. The guy who developed my surf prosthetic is a big wave guy on the North Shore in Hawaii. I have no idea what would possess a guy with 1 arm to go out in that.

The best.

Bombs hitting, guys bailing...Made me laugh my ass off!

Dude basically saying you can fight, or go for a surf...guys choosing the latter. And a General letting them choose, lol.

Best scene in that movie, aside from the Brando & Sheen confrontation.

And that was just such a cool element to that character. They didn't need to add the whole surfing element to make Duvall's character interesting within the setting of a war film. But just putting that bit in there made him a much more 3 dimensional character.

Absolutely. You dont find that much in current day CGI projects.

That's why I catch every Guy Ritchie film I hear of. They're not all great, but better than the regurgitated slop thats out.

Like the Mad Max preview, ;)

Its called having a script, as opposed to standard cookie-cutting formulaic crap (~90% of Michael Bey), or remaking something because you have no new ideas.

The 3 best writer directors these days are Guy Ritchie, Kevin Smith and Quentin Tarentino. There are a few others here and there, obviously.
