Once you have money, time is much more valuable.

These tech billionaires really need to knock it off about uploading their brain (it would be your knowledge, not "you") to a hard drive and start using money they could never spend on cancer and Alzheimer's research.

good perspective.

the old saying has always been true:
"You can't take it with you"

The second part seems right.

The bolded seems possibly pretty silly.

Yes, I'm sure if you had talked to him a week ago in his deathbed, he'd have taken 20 billion more dollars instead of 20 more years of life.

How about you boys take a HUGE step back and realize what this dude did for so many from his position of true power.

WE ALL lost a great man in the passing of Mr Allen.

RIP sir.

I misunderstood. My initial reaction was that time is no less valuable even when one does not have money.

Consider your use of the temporal qualifier “once.”

Rich and famous, yes. But he wasn't exactly Kim Kardashian. He kinda did some important things with his life, that gave him his wealth as it rightly should have.

My point was at a certain level of tech wealth, you need to be moving that money to biotech because you can't spend it all. And they need to stop talking to each other about dumb ideas like uploading brains to hard drives that are great Black Mirror stories, but won't work in the real world.

I often wondered why Magic Johnson was talking about buying franchises in 1992 instead of pouring all his money into AIDs treatment, fortunately, by 1995 the effective cocktails had come along in the nick of time.

Health span is everything once the basics are taken care of. Half of Americans over 85 have some form of dementia. Getting past 85 isn't enough, we have to figure out how to make it worthwhile.

To that point...from all reports he was a self made man. Lot of players had nothing but positive things and it wasnt even football. Dont know what happened to Thomas but that could be the GM.
