Any of you sci-fi geeks watching this? I think it's one of the best shows on tv right now. I think the key is to follow closely, but not too closely (as in don't get caught-up in timeline affects).

One of the challenges for a show like this is to advance the plot without running out of material, so the issue is to expand the dynamics in a way that make sense and engages the viewer (i.e. avoid the cheap "gotchya" devices). And they've done that extremely well, such that they've create more questions than they've answered without the viewer feeling strung along.

I've seen a few comparisons to "Lost"...it's not unjustified.

Haven't heard anything about it. Is it loosely based on the film? "Five thousand dollars! Five thousand dollars!"

Very loosely based. Not much in common aside from the name and the fact they go back in time trying to stop a global plague.

"Lost" is a good comparison. Watch the first 2-3 shows and you'll be hooked.

Give it a chance. The premier is a bit confusing, but it WiLL hook you by the 2nd or 3rd episode.

Scyfy fandom aside...this is actually one of the best dramas on tv right now.

I've read some reviews and discussions...it gets pretty deep, so perhaps I'll rewatch the season at some point.

Anyway, I don't think a certain "traveler" is actually the "witness". I wonder if it will be revealed, but I have no [good] idea who it can be.

Damn. mind blownt

Amazing episode. This show is quite different - revealing answers to questions we don't know yet. The plot/conspiracy is expanding at an exponential rate.

They're only doing a little over 1M viewers a week, which for SyFy is probably a smash hit. But I can't help thinking fans of Lost would be really into this. I wonder if this won't blow up after going on Netflix.

Speaking of 12 Monkeys and Terry Gilliam, I rewatched Brazil which I haven't seen in like forever. That is a really great movie that I didn't appreciate the first time.

Maybe because it's becoming true.

Well, they just did a one time[?] weekend binge of the new Season 3. Apparently, it's otherwise straight to Netflix.

And....WOW....

Season 1 was good. Season 2 was great. Season 3 was epic. I mean, writing...acting...production...cinema. I've been a fan of Lost, Sopranos, The Wire, The Shield, Mad Men...and this was THE BEST singular season of drama I've ever seen.

And it's not close. Season 3 is on par with a big screen movie trilogy. Brilliant is a gross understatement. And you don't have to be a sci-fi nerd to appreciate this. Jaw-dropping and amazing, yet it's never cheap or insulting, and all makes sense. You see, Lost quickly boxed itself in....but 12 Monkeys has never betrayed its viewer while weaving an unbelievably complex story that has, literally, everything in a drama.

LOL, would have missed it if not for blind luck. Little bit in awe of what I just saw. Tight and incredibly, incredibly well done - S3 can almost stand on its own.

Final season of 12 Monkeys starts this Friday with a 3 episode binge (and then 3 more each of the next two weeks, and then a 2 hour finale the last week).

It is reportedly the best season yet, which will probably cement it in the pantheon of best sci-fiy shows ever. Nobody watches it, but it might end-up blowing-up on streaming services.

Really one of the best shows I've ever seen....and one of the best endings ever.
