Hard to believe we are finally getting a shot at these asshats.

Horny is game time but says he will be ready.
Cole is the odd man out by looking at the lines below.

Bob has been terrible his last four starts. Probably shuts us out tonight.

Penguins projected lineup
Jake Guentzel -- Sidney Crosby -- Patric Hornqvist

Carl Hagelin -- Evgeni Malkin -- Phil Kessel

Conor Sheary -- Riley Sheahan -- Bryan Rust

Dominik Simon -- Carter Rowney -- Ryan Reaves

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Chad Ruhwedel -- Olli Maatta

Matt Hunwick -- Jamie Oleksiak

Matt Murray

Tristan Jarry

Scratched: Ian Cole, Tom Kuhnhackl

Injured: Justin Schultz (lower body)

Very very important game and on Saturday going into the mini holiday break. Columbus is a good team with a lot of scorers.

Looks like we've got a run of divisional games going on...these are HUGE for the Pens to establish their footing.

Thank god Kuhn is out. I only wished Archi was the 13th F in case of injury.

No Dubinski which is a shame bc I wanted Reaves to pound the ever living fuck outta him

I think just removing Kuhn is going to do wonders for that 4th line...I'm excited about it

I also like Simon on the fourth line. I know it is early but he seems to have offensive talent and that is in short abundance down there.

I just want a strong showing against a team we are likely to see if we make the dance.

I'm the opposite. The worst the team does, the more changes will be made. Only way things will change.

Thought it was a real good period. Just didn’t put the puck in the net despite plenty of chances to do so.

Stop me if you’ve heard that one before.

I get it Hacksaw, and I agree, but I’m more focused on the top 6 and the really lackluster play I’ve seen from most of them. Those are pieces not likely to be moved and I need to see if it’s fatigue or if we just don’t have the personnel this year.

Best period of hockey in a while. Columbus is bumbling though.

#6 did alright. Showed some skill early and knocked a few guys down with ease. He moves pretty well for a big fucker.

Talk about a shift in play from one period to the next.
Murray tracked that pass slowly and of course his glove hand let him down.

Just shit PP tonight; bad passing and bad angles on their shots.

Sully broke the units up last time. Malkin and Kessel on the second unit. Sully did this either last game or the game prior.

It amazes me how the squad can't sustain good play over periods.

They showed a clip on ATTUSEDTOBEROOT of the Pens - Burkle/Mario handing out Stanley cup rings to 150 full time employees.

Looks like Jenner is gone.
Don't know how Foglino didn't get an extra 2 for his play on Malkin in front of Bob.

Crosby and Jones double minors. The second period to begin is going to miss 87 and 71-ouch.

Letang sealing it with the great move!

Malkin, Crosby, Kessel, Letang is how you line up a shootout. Well done all around.

This team's gonna be just fine.

And it was just a few short weeks ago that we were bitching about Letang on the shootout. Of course, bitching was premised on his being ahead of Kessel in the order....wasn't the case tonight. Interesting, both Letang and Malkin, presumed secondary to Kessel and Sid, bagged their shots.

That was me and I kinda chuckled when Kessel was 3rd. At that moment I said to myself: I think it's a toss up between Letang and Kessel here

Reason being is that Letang seemed to have his head on straight this game- he had a solid performance the past few games. Much much different guy than we saw a month ago. I really think Sully needs to approach it like this:

Letang having a good game: he goes 3rd in the SO
Letang having a bad game: he goes after Kessel

Because beyond those top 4, who else is a good shootout guy? I can't speak to Guentzel or Sheary. Maybe they opt for Sheahan bc I know he's got a good shot, but he hasn't used it. Perhaps Simon? Idk much about their shootout prowess.
