Nice PK.
Sheahan is so patient and doesn't panic. Hagelin was all over the whole ice and Rowney made a nice clear. Of course Jarry was stellar.

Glad Rust is back on the second line.

If Sheahan would put the puck in the net once in a while, I'd like him a lot. Unfortunately, that seemed to be the complaint with him in Detroit, as well.

He had scored the previous two games

Which gives him 3 on the year. He plays like he has the talent to get more, but just can't seem to do it.

Sheahan is on pace to outproduce Bonino when he was here.
What more do you want from a 3rd line C? He's also fairly new here (what does he have, 20 games w/ us?). And he's had a revolving door of linemates

Considering the circumstances, I'd say he's producing at a normal 3C level

If we see a combo of roster moves and improvement in play in Jan/Feb, I’ll feel like the team is back on the right track.

If nothing changes much, then I’ll kind of know a threepeat is not in the cards.

He is also good on FO's and is solid on the PK. Doesn't block a lot of shots but all that got Bones was hurt.
The Pens problems, IMO are internal.

40 SOG against a second tier tender and all they could get by him was 1? I didn't watch it fully(NE scouting) but the same issues seemed to plague this team-they are too perimeter and not enough guys are going to the net.

Losing 4 out of 5 at home is unacceptable.

So he's on pace to outscore Bonino's 6 regular season goals last year? Yay! That's obviously not enough. It wasn't enough when Bonino did it last year (and got chastised from local media and fans because of it, although he's obviously counted on in the playoffs more than regular season), and it's not enough from Sheahan now.

So yes, I absolutely want more from my 3rd line center than 6 goals.

And you can attribute it to being new, but he had 2 goals with his last full season in Detroit in 80 games, and 0 in his first 8 games with them this season. Career high was 14, which was 3 years ago. It's not exactly a new phenomenon.

Like I said in my original post, I like the guy's game...he just needs more goals for what I believe his ability level to be.
