The 4th line has been playing sooooooo much better. Kuhnhackl and Reaves in particular

Great period by the Pens...and it was almost like how it has been lately in our losses. Gotta clean up the turnovers in our end.

Good scoring chances. Halak can still play.

Eberle must die.
That was pure shit on his part.

Pens stopped skating this period and the top line has been terrible defensively.
If they don't get some OZ time the Islanders will get their chances and cash in.

Maata with a real nice stick to breakup a possible give-me goal after the PK.

This period is as bad as the first was good.

Fortunate it’s 1-1. Let’s kill em in the 3rd

If not for Jarry this would be out of hand.

I thought the defense did a good job overall but most of the forwards were crap and not working hard. Hagelin, Guentzel and Malkin to a degree were good enough...the rest need to step up this period.
Fourth line goal>

Horny breaks out on the flank with a sharp angle and the only one on his wing is Hunwick. Forwards tonight have been shit.

It is early but Kessel is MVP worthy speculation . Thought I might never say that.

First year I've been able to watch every Penguin game. Kessel has been awesome!! What a fuckin' shot.

Too bad the Isles got even a point out of this one.

Please sign Horny already- whatever he want's fuckin pay him!!

Isles are a pretty decent team. Looks like Weight knows what he's doin for sure. Add another team to the Metro that'll be a battle every night :/

I wonder what Horny is going to want next contract? He is making 4.25 million this year. The other UFA are Reaves, Rowney and Cole with Rust the significant RFA.
I want them to make Horny the priority.

Weird game last night.
Hurts to give away a point in the way they did at the end. Hey, at least they got the extra point instead of Isles.

It continues to amaze me how teams give the Pens their best effort. The only time I saw a team this year give up against them was Arizona.
The Islanders, like the Rangers just kept coming all game long.

Agreed. Thought to myself watching both games that it looked like contests being played in May.

For me the ONLY concern with Horny is term. I'd easily pay him $6M, but is he gonna want 6 yrs with that? Yikes...that's where it makes me cringe a bit

I kinda shrugged off the NYR game...even though I didn't watch it fully it seems like they dominated and they got a couple bad breaks. I'm fine with that

Pens STILL need better 5 v 5 play. What happens when their PP goes cold...which is bound to happen soon enough? Gonna look really ugly if you can't break through 5 v 5

Yeah, 6 years wouldn't make any sense. The window will be closed by the end of that contract and it might be three years too long.
Let's face it, unless there is another chance to add a generational player both Malkin and Crosby could be past their prime in about three years. Not saying they couldn't still be good maybe great players but the likelihood is that they won't be good enough to carry a team to another cup.
Why pay Horny for three years at that rate when the team's window for another cup is closed?

I still have a hard time facing the music that Crosby and Malkin are in their early thirties. And being thirty is young!
