Sid with his Bane mask was pretty bad ass.

That came courtesy of a slapper from Orpik.

Here is an interesting article about the ordeal:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/ ... e12282327/

And that talentless hack Luke Bryan called Crosby a wimp during the Preds final.

IS a broken jaw...but not ruled out.

Then Chara punched Sid in the face immediately after the helmet was removed

Wish Sid could return the favor to see how it feels

Big difference between getting a broken jaw in the regular season and getting one with 4 games left in the Stanley Cup Finals. If Sid broke his jaw in the Finals and was a 42 year old player likely getting his last sniff of a Cup, my bet is he would bubble wrap his head and eat thru a straw for a week and a half so he could keep lacing up his skates.

Sid played with a broken foot in playoffs against Ottawa back in 2007 when the Pens were just rounding out.

Interestingly enough, Chara is playing tonight, and there's a definite chance somebody's gonna take a shot at that jaw, Donnie. By midnight, he may know exactly how it felt.

Edit: Wow, that might have been one of the more villainous sounding things I've ever typed.

Boston going with 7 D men.
They played that emotional card for all it was worth pre-game.

St. Louis' 2nd goal on a dirty play is perfect Boston karma.

Awful, awful missed call.

But I’ll take it.

They could have called it, but Acciari was admittedly fine after he went down, so why the fuck was he on one knee like that staring at the ref looking for a call. Is this the Premier League or the SCF?

I’m not assuming he could have prevented Perron from scoring, but he just sat there for practically 8 seconds while the Blues worked the puck in the zone and scored.

If I was a Bruins fan (thankful I’m not) I would be pissed at the no-call; but Acciari taking a breather/knee there while his captain is skating around with half of his jaw hanging off of his face is not a good look, and not what wins cups.

I do think he was stunned a bit from hitting the back of his head off the ice (and they did take him to the locker room immediately after, for what I’m guessing was a concussion check. I didn’t notice if he returned or not).

But yeah, still needs to make a better effort there instead of yelling at the refs.

Well, either the Boston team goes down, or I get another hockey game to watch before I have to descend into the pit of misery that is Pirates baseball, so last night definitely was a win-win.

Watched it a few times...not 100% convinced it was a trip.

Looks like his stick just tapped the back of the skate...but I don't skate and so don't know how a tap like that might affect a person's skate.

Tripping doesn’t just apply to the stick. The bigger issue was that Bozak’s leg came up from behind the Bruin’s player and pushed his leg out from under him. It wasn’t a slew foot, but a very similar effect.

OK thanks- I'll watch again and look for that.

It was pretty much Sweep the Leg Johnny on Ice. But I'll take it. Cobra Kai shows no mercy.

Yeah... no question at all... that should have been a penalty. Also, no question at all that I give zero fucks that Boston got hosed. I just hope the Blues don't screwed on an inordinate number of makeup calls in game 6.

Couldn't agree more. That trip was no different than this one

And there's gonna be a hearing on the MoJo hit
https://twitter.com/HeresYourReplay/sta ... 77/video/1

I bet he gets 1 game because to the DOPS will feel it's necessary to make it up to Boston after the missed trip

Crap- St. Louis called down the wrath of the hockey gods on themselves.

Post-Disptach had an ad in the e-edition celebrating the Cup the team hadn't won yet- the governor of Missouri did the same thing.

They're toast.

If you are Cassidy, I suppose you tell your team to keep doing what they did for most of that period.
What a wild ride that period was.

I'm hoping the Blues realize that they can't sit back and defend in their own zone for the next 40 minutes.

Charles Barkley just called Crosby the best superstar in sports.

I'm channeling 2009.
