To my knowledge, no Pens player has been accused of domestic abuse, driving 100 MPH, throwing furniture at children, or dying their mustaches blonde. So...it's not a bad day no matter what happens on the ice.

Go Pens and fuck the Steelers.

Several Pens players are Patriot and Brady fans, so there is that...
Speaking of such, this game would have been better yesterday-helping cleanse the palate after Sundays happenings.

No Malkin again-still day to day. Schultz spoke up about his return yesterday. From what I read don't expect him back for at least another week. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Austin Matthews got a five year contract extension today. He now makes more than Crosby and Malkin yearly.

Matthews now makes more per year than anyone not named Connor McDavid.

Toronto has ~7.5m in Cap space to retain Jake Gardiner, Kasperi Kapanen, and Mitch Marner....plus they'll need to backfill Hainsey's spot on Defense, backup goaltender, and their entire 4th line. Good luck with that.

Well that sucked.

Did you see that rush to the net by Riikola? He’s a great skater. I say no way should JJ see the ice over Riikola.

And goddamn that was a great chance by McCann. Should be 1-1.

Funny that they do 80s night so much; when I go back to the Burgh’ I swear some places look like they are stuck in 1985-1986.

Potash looks scary tonight. His costume is outrageous.

Sucks to give one up in the last minute. McElhinney was really good but the Pens got too cute in the OZ and over passed and missed on some solid opportunities.
Crosby had 2-3 setups that should have been buried-some real nice work turned in by him.

Here comes the dreaded second period.

This game is on the verge of being over already. I’ve seen games like this where the opposing goaltender looks like the love child of Ed Balfour, Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeaur.

This dude is seeing everything in slow motion and nothing is getting by him.

The Canes aren't great by any stretch, but they're certainly not a bottom feeder. Not that it makes the loss any better.

That's two losses in a row for me, by the way.

I'm bowing out of the thread starter role.

I think Donnie was on deck? That right?

I appreciate the shout out, but I'd be voted first on "most likely to forget to start a game thread"

My bad. I had thought I remembered you volunteering to be next.

Whoever. fractal has the baton if no one else takes it.

Appreciate the service Lipps. You brought us from the doldrums to a playoff spot.
