Here's to hoping Antonio Brown's mysterious interview ends up being an intermission spot with Dan Potash.

Nice to pay attention to a Pittsburgh team that doesn’t resemble the latest iteration of the Real Housewives series.

I second this sentiment.
Going on a small rant, I can't believe the difference between the franchises and how they tend to business. Sure, the Pens have had their share of wing nuts and malcontents but they do a good job of insulating such shit or removing it from the equation.

One ownership will go to all lengths to have a chance at the ultimate prize-the other one is stuck in their ways, not willing to do what it takes to get that chance at the ultimate prize.
The Pens have been frustrating this year from time to time but you knew they were too proud, too well coached and too well backed by ownership to let the ship sink.

The Pens might not win the cup, they might not get close but they are not an embarrassment to Pittsburgh like the Steelers are.

The Steelers have pissed all over their sandbox far too long and the stench is much too strong.

Let's take it to the Rangers in their house tonight!

The only negative thing about the Pens play recently is that every other goddamn contender in the Metro is on a similar streak. At least they're not in the Atlantic. Yeesh.

Malkin was voted team MVP last year(4-5th time) and Crosby was on record saying he voted for Geno.

Murray kept the Birdies in the game that first period. Too much time chasing in their own zone. The thing is that was a big problem early in the season because it carried over period to period but since they got their shit together it is now the odd period where the Pens are out of sorts to a degree.

Sweet setup by the Old man to ZAR. Credit Letang for keeping it deep.

And Simon responds after a beautiful pass from Geno. Apparently we've time-warped back to the 80s.... Lots of goals in the 2nd

Sully is right about the effort early on, the team came out flat and not involved. Guess what, they chipped one in, got another and scored three goals bang bang. That is the team I recall when they were in a groove.
This edition is coming around and even when they are not at their best they are dangerous.

Crosby played 1:21 of PK on the first kill. I ask you, when was the last time you saw that?
Good stuff-the captain has been the best player on the ice tonight.

And the Pens chase the King from his throne once again.

6 goals on 18 shots.

It's refreshing to see a team with a killer instinct. Even though up by 4 with 6 minutes left in the game, they are still hammering them at the Rangers - no fucking mercy! If Tomlin coached this team, they would have barely registered a shot in the 3rd period.

I echo FCs comments from the podcast. This to me is the Penguins town.

Malkin was voted team MVP last year(4-5th time) and Crosby was on record saying he voted for Geno.

Not sure if people know this background either:

Ever since Crosby was a kid, it was his routine as a captain to always be the LAST person when they walk from dressing room to the ice for games
When Crosby joined the team, Malkin was already doing this and it apparently was Geno's thing to be the last person too..quote the superstition
When they found this out about each other, neither of them wanted that last spot and deferred to each other refusing that last spot.

Sid and Geno have tremendous respect for each other, there's no doubt

Pens always seem to have more trouble vs a defensive corps with active and or long sticks. That first period last night had so many passes disrupted by active stick work that I lost track. Reminded me of playing San Jose.
