Glad one Pittsburgh team is turning it on...

Another really good game from Murray. Need that to continue, and I think it will.

I hate being a downer but I felt like we gave up too many shots and high quality chances in the first 2 periods. We were buoyed by 2 PP goals
So defensively I felt like much was desired . Offensively I loved lines 1 to 3 . The 4th line was pure garbage .. Cullen and Sheahan are OK but they need a speedster on the other side

Also noticed that the cycle offensively dies whenever the puck gets to the right point when a LD grabs it . Schultz coming back is going to do wonders for our possession game

I'm also hoping that Schultz is the answer to better possession time.
Errey mentioned last night that the league has gone from puck possession play to more attacking the team in their own end to force TO's. Said he and Sullivan were talking about such recently in length. He used a term for it but I can't remember what he called it at this moment.
He could have been full of shit as he often is.

Nevertheless, the Pens are a better team when they possess the puck. I agree that last night they spent too much time chasing in their own end and if not for a solid performance from Murray and a little 'pipe' luck the Pens could have been facing a big deficit early one.

The Pens hit a few posts of their own, and Jimmy Howard had a few impressive saves. Final score could have easily been 8-2

Quit being so goddamn negative :D

The bad taste from the early season funk is still present, but Murray is making me hopefully and Malkin can't keep this scoring slump up. Soon, 71 will break free and if the top line keeps it up this will be a formidable team. The return of a healthy Schultz will be big as well.

Thankfully they survived that first period last night.

Even though he fucked up and lost the puck that lead to the goal, I saw a more engaged Malkin at least. No "sleepwalking". Although I'm not so sure he enjoys Horny as his linemate
