How were the sharks?

They won some games but blew leads. I think there was a 4 game stretch where Crosby/Malkin and Kessel combined for one goal but the Pens banked some points.

Letang is a game time decision which is incredible.

Penguins projected lineup
Jake Guentzel -- Sidney Crosby -- Bryan Rust

Zach Aston-Reese -- Evgeni Malkin -- Phil Kessel

Tanner Pearson -- Derick Brassard -- Riley Sheahan

Derek Grant -- Matt Cullen -- Garrett Wilson

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Olli Maatta -- Juuso Riikola

Marcus Pettersson -- Jamie Oleksiak

Casey DeSmith

Matt Murray

Scratched: Chad Ruhwedel, Jean-Sebastien Dea, Jack Johnson

Injured: Patric Hornqvist (upper body), Justin Schultz (left leg fracture), Dominik Simon (lower body)

Rumor is that JJ will be scratched.
If so, I will do a brief pelvic thrust when I hear the news

He is playing and looks fine.

That was a great play by 17.

Fuck, 6 seconds left on the kill and they score. DeSmith did everything he could but sometimes the other guy is better.

That penalty on Crosby was weak-dude went down after a love tap. Pens right back to the PK.

I've had it with JJ. The Ducks tie it up after the PK when Johnson decides he is going to try for the perfect hip check at the blue allowing the Ducks to have space and time. Huge void because he didn't do his job and it cost the Pens.

Will Kase score and easier goal this year?

Letang picked the wrong time to doze off.

I wouldn’t mind being tied 2-2 but being down one after one of the best first periods we’ve played all season really chaps my ass

Yeah, the defense on the last goal was asleep. The second goal was Johnson being the dolt he is. He tried for a hip check at his blue line when the Ducks had the numbers.

I thought the second line, especially Malkin in that period had some nice shifts. Malkin setup ZAR with two quality chances that didn't go.

Pens need a PP badly.

The last PP they had only netted them 15 seconds of zone time and not a single shot. The Ducks 4 guys smothered and outplayed our 5.

Nice pic! Where were you diving at?

I was in the Caribbean for the first time this past summer. Nearly shit myself when we saw a nurse shark while snorkeling.

Roatan. It's a small island off the coast of Honduras. Pretty well known for scuba diving.

Nice shot.

I have history with sharks. Started when I learned to surf off the Northern Coast of Taiwan as a youth-longboards. We would see sharks all the time and it wasn't until I left the island years later that I learned the beach I used to surf on weekends was eventually closed due to shark attacks.
Fast forward a few decades and one day as a young man I'm in the waters of Ocean city trying to convince some lovely ladies to attend our party later that evening. The three of us were in about four and a half feet of water when one of the girls screamed and a look of pure fear came over face. I turned to look and here was a fin heading my way. The damn fish hit me in the abdomen knocking me through the water. It didn't bite me but I suffered some abrasions to my gut and a broken rib.

Another time I was rafting large waves off the coast of Wilmington NC when a ten foot hammerhead swam by me as I waited for a wave. That freaked me out seeing such an odd looking fish.

Yeah, sharks are way more dangerous in the surf than they are in the open water. They don't like noise and commotion and get disoriented (and more defensive) rather easily in those areas. Those "bumps" like you experienced are pretty common. It's essentially a warning shot to scare you away.

Even the most aggressive sharks are completely different in the open water where they have a better idea what you are. There, they can tell you're not food or a threat, so they'll just swim right around you as if you were just some piece of floating debris.
