That was a clusterfuck of referee shenanigans

Those refs are fucking blind and dumb.

Tristan Jarry doesn’t look like an NHL caliber goalie. I realize you need to get him reps but if Murray is out long term our backup situation is not good.

And what’s with the Avs and the slew foot? Both guys should have gotten game misconducts for that. What kind of cheap fucking bush league squad is this?

Well, if you lose this one, we know who to blame for the bad ju ju.

I'm your man!

I cannot fathom that there was no icing and no penalty in that end sequence. It's not as if Letang isn't going hard after a puck that is headed towards an empty net and the puck wasn't touched. Then the slewfoot!

I disagree with you here. Jarry is legit...he's not in any type of playing rhythm now splitting starts with DeSmith

This team is completely disjointed. Rust needs to be benched, but Sully's pets strike again

I'll add that if Murray is out for a while, I'd prefer Jarry to get the bulk of the action over Casey. Like to have the best possible read on what we have in the kid.

Well they better get that out of the way quickly because when you take the entire month of November off (as the Pens did) we don’t have the luxury to continue to test the waters. We need to win twice as much as we lose.

I think, despite a relatively middling (maybe even being a bit nice here) performance last game, Jarry has more starter-quality NHL traits than DeSmith, who's already shown himself to be a spot-starting backup at best. Wouldn't want to bet a championship run on either, at this point, but it's not like Murray has been Patrick Roy, and his warts are well-documented league-wide at this point. It's a rough situation for GMJR and the coaches to navigate, to be sure.

Tom Wilson ejected for a shot to the head again.

Unreal. I’m starting to think he’s got a mental problem and needs to be removed from the league for good. In any event, fuck him, fuck the caps and any shitbag that will defend this turd.

That angle is different that I saw until now. On ice it looks like contact was made to the head. Other sources are showing it from above and you don't see a definitive head shot with those.

Interesting that these videos are all over the internet but nary a peep on nhl.com.

It was uncalled for at the least. If they determine it was a headshot then Wilson should be gone until the snow melts, maybe longer.

Dude has issues for sure.

At the very least it was uncalled for, from behind, and late. Even if you want to say it wasn’t a head shot, it was still cheap.

Unfortunately, the guy he hit returned to the game later. And in the twisted world of NHL punishment, that makes it less severe.

The play didn't have to happen-it was way late. There was premeditation there and considering the players history it goes to strengthen a pattern of late hits by Wilson.

To me, with what is provided as video, I don't see a definitive headshot though it looks like Wilson did cock his elbow to head level just prior to the hit.
Like I said, the overhead views were vague at best and the on ice gif was a bit over- accelerated and that horizontal black line makes it hard to get a true look.

Fortunately Seney did come back and didn't end up like the other victims of Wilson who suffered severe consequences. But yeah, the NHL is fucked up in gauging punishment based on whether the player came back or he didn't.

Should be interesting what the NHL does about this incident/cheap shot.

You don’t get to spend your whole career cheap shotting dudes then get the benefit of the doubt when you do it again. It was late and very cheap, which defines Tom Wilson. Hopefully another suspension is coming.

Doesn’t even look like there’s going to be will be a hearing for Wilson.
