Goddammit Nutting, you tightwad cheap-ass bastard, GO GET SOME BULLPEN HELP!

Against all odds this season, this team has shown heart, desire and bursts of power, but just like every year the payroll-starved Pirates have obviously missing pieces that waste the efforts of Cervelli & Co. and cause gut-wrenching losses like tonight, that should've been Ws. Several just this past week or two.

Sometimes I seriously wonder if we'd all been better off if the franchise had packed up and moved to N'Orleans or wherever they threatened to go, back in the mid-80s or 90s . . . so that the 20-year streak-of-infamy, and now this perennial teasing and failing act, wouldn't have besmirched the great memories of the Buccos of the glory days of 1960, the early 70s, and 1979 . . .

There would have been some withdrawal pains for part of a season, but life would have continued. We'd have attained closure.
If the "New Orleans Pirates" had done well -- like the LA Dodgers did after being the Brooklyn Dodgers -- there would have been a positive link with the team's origins in Pittsburgh. Conversely, if the New Orleans Pirates suffered under an owner like the Nut people would associate the failure with the new location -- not with the city of Champions still hosting the Penguins and the Steelers.

At least the Cleveland owner was better looking.

He sucks. and he plays like 26% of the time. Not to mention he's WAYYYYY overpaid. What was that piece of shit catcher's name that was also Hurdles boy several years back? OH yeah, Hot Rod Barajas. He hit about .130 and runners could trot to 2nd base and not have to worry about getting thrown out. Reminds me of that situation.

Tonight’s game is a textbook example as to why the Pirates will be a streaky team in 2018.

Hitting with no pitching gets you these results...every...single...time.

Well it was fun for a few months (way more than I expected).

Unfortunately for us Pirate fans, the only 'streak' this team's probably gonna achieve is adding on to another multi-year losing record run . . .

Out shopping for a Ryan Reaves jersey that fits his blow up doll, I'd imagine.

Enjoying the Steelers’ best offseason in history?

You realize, of course, that we don’t deserve a good Pirates’ team...

He is in my basement along with Hacksaw. I have them both in a box, on a 50 calorie per day diet and a sugar drip.

They both have to relieve themselves in each other’s boxes. I am going to let them out in a few months. I am taking them to an Andersonville, GA re-enactment in October.

I think the Bucs should sign R Palmiero, put him at 1B and leave him there. Trade Bell.

Trade Nutting, or this team is cursed. Book it.

That's the only thing that could save us from another 20-year run of suckitude.

not rooting for it but this losing streak has put them far enough under 500 that its doubtful they sniff it again in 2018..hes not the biggest reason but hurdle sucks. he effectively cooled off the scorching meadows with non play. the love for serpico is strange cause he sucks. alot of his decisions seem grab bag bullshit..cant seem to motivate guys like polanco .
nutting is worst owner in sports.

Well, it's only loosely Pirates related, but congratulations to Bobby Bonilla on his annual $1,193,248.20 check from the New York Mets. Make sure to save a little, my dude, you're only getting 17 more of em.

Will this team drop to 20+ under .500 by the end of the season?

If they were smart, they'd trade Dickerson.

They are going to trade all of the guys who they are not going to resign. They will trade Dickerson because Meadows can take his place.
