Actually creates more opportunity for Frazier to take the job away from Jhay and justify dealing him at the deadline which SHOULD have happened in the off season.

Lets Go Bucs !

Agree - I would rather have Frazier play

Brault blows. The first (probably) of Nutting's 2018 roster chickens coming home to roost. He'll seem to be cruising along but repeatedly suffers big trainwreck innings.

I'll defer to the local experts as to overall value, but I've always really liked JHay and sorry to see him out. I like his energy and we've seen him many times bring that extra spark to a game -- seems anything can happen when he gets going, like his homerun into the gal's beer cup at San Fran a few years back, and his Cirque du Soleil moves eluding the tag when stuck on the basepaths. Get well soon Josh.

Musgrove will be taking Brault's starting spot fairly soon (hopefully).

I like Brault. He's solid at the plate. But yeah, he's been one of the few consistent underperformers so far this season.

I think you're Nuts if you prefer Frazier over JHay. Frazier is a butcher defensively and right now I think he is a lesser hitter too. Only reason to want to move JHay and go with Frazier would be cost savings. The cheer squad for Bob's wallet is strong here on SF.

They were hitting at an unsustainable rate. They were going to go into a quiet period.

Hopefully it’s not a three month quiet period...

At this point, I'll settle for reasonably exciting baseball between the end of Penguins season and the beginning of Steelers camp. The nice thing about the last couple years is the Buccos have really only had to occupy a little over a month of my attention. The not so nice part is, they've not been unbelievably successful at it. You only had one job, Pirates...

Analytics and replay have essentially removed the SB as a tactical piece of most MLB offenses.

Same here. Buster Olney wrote a good piece a few weeks back about why the SB is disappearing from the game.

Jake Arrieta does a far better job of owning the Pirates than Bob Nutting.
