Still , a sour taste remains from last nights third period debacle. Talk about a team mailing it in. Nearly everyone was complicit in that mess and lack of effort.
Sullivan lit the team up for the third period in the press and rightfully so.

Anyway, Jooris was sent down-way to give him a chance.
Looks like the fourth line will still be a shit show.

Heard nothing about Sheary getting hurt last night though he did miss a few shifts.

Sounds like Sheary was demoted, NOT injured

* Projected lines:
Guentzel-Crosby-Sheary
Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist
Rust-Brassard-Kessel
Kuhnhackl-Sheahan-Rowney
Dumoulin-Letang
Oleksiak-Schutlz
Maatta-Ruhwedel
Jarry

All I saw were that the lines would be the same as last night.

Another trap game for sure.

The Pens got off to a bad start but after falling behind by two they came alive. Tale of two halves of a period.

I like that Brassard has come alive but he needs to shoot when he has a good/great look at the net instead of looking for a line mate.
Can't argue about Hagelin and what he has brought the last month. Kessel and Horny both shined that period.

Biggest complaint against Malkin this year is that he hasn't used his big slapper nearly enough.

3-2

They go from almost getting a great look to lazy play(again) in their own end_3-3

Malkin left the zone too early, Letang tried to do a triple pirouette in his own corner and a few seconds later a good shot ties it.
All of that after the Pens had a great chance to go up two.

Is Brassard giving even a hint of breaking out yet?

I think he is going to come around.

My concern is Sid’s line. I don’t have the answers- maybe Brasco’s idea of trying Brassard on his wing? We have to get Sid going.

Agreed though Sid has been shooting more recently.

Brassard isn't putting it in the net but there are plenty of other guys doing such. DB is coming around and the last two games he made some very nice plays. I still don't know about him and Kessel together though one would suspect by now DB knows the third line belongs to PK.

Let this sink in, the Pens don't play again until Tuesday when they go back to back-away and home. That sucks.
I wonder if Sully lets the boys head out of town(Florida because the weather in PA sucks right now) for a few days or does he have some of his 'intense' practices?

He grabbed the turnover that lead to Kessel's goal. He seems to be swarming around the net. So I'm seeing good signs. Again he's only got less than 10 games under his belt. Sheahan looked completely baffled and lost early on and he's been a revelation.

Tad upset that this deal didn't happen earlier to allow for Brassard to integrate. I don't want to go into the playoffs wondering: Will he gel with KEssell? Again I have no long term wonders about what Brassard brings to the table, but they need to get some chemistry rolling. I think another thing hindering things is that Phil is injured. He just doesn't look the same before he went crashing into the boards a couple weeks ago, just seems off

I'm more worried about the defense than whatever forwards we put out there. Wow...just some minor league level shit going on with the coverages and pinches

The forwards are missing coverages/pinches an equal amount. Two to tango on the pinches.

That's fair, but I've seen plenty of times where the Defenseman SHOULD NOT be pinching due to where F3 is at.
