Weird period.

Pens came out and dominated early then Sully cut the bench short and it seemed to turn the ice.

Kessel has sucked out loud in his own end the first 20. Letang looks like he is struggling to skate.

Top line had the best chances and the second line followed that early on with some excellent play.
Last ten minutes the Pens were defending way too much.

Strong game by the New Hampshire goalie once again, so far....after two periods. Hoping for a good 3rd.

Good performance by DeSmith....game sucked though. Goal by Pens 3 minutes in, shut out rest of way.

Letang looked like the worst player on the ice. Terrible decisions with both passing and skating (twice he skated directly into a check instead of skating away from the check). He was a disaster on the PP. Wish Schultz got the top PP instead of Tanger.

Letang was so bad last night that he should sit the next game. He was lazy in his own end with passes across his goal crease that nearly ended up in the back of the net.
On the PP he was timid and took too much time to make his decisions. The guy has to just play off instincts because when he thinks out on the ice he tends to make poor choices.

Last night was what I call a wasted opportunity. Got a great game from our tender but couldn't break Dell after getting to him early.
The lines were so jumbled early on that the early momentum was lost and the Pens struggled from that point on.

Another one goal loss-way too many of them this year.

If Sprong earned a benching for the Ducks game, then Tanger assuredly earned one for this game. Also, I would like:

Sheary - Crosby - Sprong
Hags - Malkin - Hornqvist
Simon - Geuntzel - Kessel
Kuhn - Sheahan - Dea

Every line has a fast guy who can get into the zone early to start the cycle, every line (but the fourth) has an elite sniper, and every line has a guy who can muck it up.

Yea and neither is Dea, mckegg or Rowney. It's making the best with what you have. Think they should go back to Jake at C knowing defensively they are going struggle a bit. Sprong needs back in

The lineup with dea isn't working... He got a whopping 4 minutes of ice time

I don't think he is either. But...he is the best we have for 3C right now. Would love a Cole + Rusty for high-end 3C with term + money retained + 3rd rounder.
