Let's wait and see.

They had a horrible June last year too, then went on a tear right before the All-Star break that put Nutting in a terrible position- team obviously not good enough to get a playoff spot, but too close to be actual sellers. So Nutting did his terrible mixed bag thing.

Archer gives up 5 homeruns. Yes 5! ERA approaching 6.00. Great move by the Pirates last year in their "hey look, we're trying" trade.

I still like to follow Pirate castoffs like Cole, Happ, and now even Glasnow. Why in the pixelated hell did they let Austin Meadows go?

I have no problem with the trade itself, unless you believe they should have made no move at all...a legit argument. Archer had been a decent enough pitcher before coming to Pittsburgh. As for what’s happened to him since...we can all draw our own conclusions.
