1. AJ Brown WR Ole Miss
As usual, the Steelers use free agency to fill the roster to the point they can go BPA in the draft. With no top ILB falling to pick 20 they take the best player available at a position of need. Replacing Antonio Brown will take a lot. AJ Brown is a very safe pick. I see him as a JuJu clone who can step in and contribute in year one which is needed. He also can excel in the slot or on the outside. With Brown and JuJu being a bit redundant, you rely on Moncreif and Washington to stretch the field and have Switzer and Rogers as slot depth. That makes a very solid 6 deep WR group, what it will take to replace AB.

2. Chase Winovich OLB Michigan
He just screams Steeler. Native yinzer. High motor, high effort player. Very productive, high character, tested well. Flowing locks. OLB depth and long term starter replacing Dupree. Hallelujah!

3. David Long ILB WVU
Big gap from the top ILB to the second tier. Long was productive, is a JR, tested well with sub 4.5 40. FA signing means he doesn’t need to start year 1.

3. Jace Stenenberger TE TAMU
TE depth is nil and when the top guy is injury prone that’s a problem. Stenenberger fills a need, good receiving threat, ok blocker.

4. David Long CB Michigan
Two guys with the same name in the same draft, has to be a first. Steelers are looking at corners with ball skills, but Long didn’t get thrown at much so he didn’t pick off passes. If he slides this far, he could be a steal. Need depth and future replacement for Haden.

6. Cole Tracy K LSU
Because fuck Boswell, that’s why.

6. Jack Bailey P Stanford
Because fuck Jordan Berry, that’s why.

6. Saquan Hampton S Rutgers
Hope and a prayer on a late round safety

7. Ryquell Armstead RB Temple
Somewhat similar to Jaylen Samuels from last year, RB/FB hybrid who can carry the rock. The Steelers love their big backs, here is one for depth.

Drama may be heading to Best Buy after the Winovich pick.

I refuse to drop hate on any mock that doesn’t start with Devin Bush.

I like the players for the most part, but David Long #2 is going earlier than our 4th.

I like Harmon the best of any WR in this draft, by far. I don't think he makes it out of the first 45 picks. I'm not a big fan of Murphy, but would be okay with it. Tough to tell in Washington who stirs the drink as there is so much talent in that secondary. KeKe would make a hell of a depth player. Hopefully would be the last of big softie Dan.

I think Deandre Baker is the best CB in the draft by far. His tape is the best of any that I have seen. I would rather have him than Murphy. I have zero confidence in the Steeler coaches training a new CB. Best get one that is NFL ready.

Only once in 20 years have the Steelers picked the guy everyone was dead certain they'd pick. Are you feelin' lucky?

I'll support the guy if he's picked but I'm not going to endorse it until I see it work.

He wont be there...He is going top 15 IMO.

I think Bush is way overrated...I can think of four better defenders from that defense.

Harmon is one of my favorite players in the draft...He is a bit stiff. He didn't test well. Players like him recently have fallen. He tracks the ball as good or better than any receiver I have seen. He has some Hines Ward/JuJu to his game. To be honest I inverted Harmon and Joseph. I have Harmon in the 2nd and Joseph at the top of the 3rd

Lastly DeAndre Baker scares me...Ooozes talent. He is so fucking grabby. Reminds me of Denard from Michigan State a few years ago....Ball skills are average

Murphy seems like a Tomlin/Colbert corner. Ball Skills. Physical most likely the most physical willing corner in the run game in the draft

I love Harmon... he's too much the same as their present WR group. He's clearly in the JuJu/Washington/Moncrief ballpark. they really missed the speed guy/deep threat last year and it'll be even worse this year without AB. Do you trust Moncrief to draw coverage? Does he scare people that way? I don't think he does. They need some scary speed, which is why I say MBrown, Hall, Hardman is really the ticket. I chose Hardman because I think he's also the best return guy in the draft, and Steelers were somewhere between mediocre and terrible in the return game last couple of years.

Steelers semi shocker first round pick
CB Omuwariye, first prototypical Steelers corner,
Bigger, stronger, faster than Murphy, or Baker.
I don’t think Murphy will be available, I’ve been seeing that Baker has character concerns.

1.CB Omuwayire
2.FS Thornhill
3a.ILB Pratt
3b.WR McLauren
4.TE Moreau

More along the lines of what I think they'll do:

1. Vosean Joseph, LB, Florida
underaged, ascending, productive in power 5 conference, easy to see the Shazier-ness

2. Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State or Julian Love, CB Notre Dame
Both underaged, both have ball skills

3a. Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia
A Virginia Man, close friend and off-season training partner of Terrell Edmunds

4. Kahale Warring, TE, San Diego State
They have met with him and Mark Breuner was at his pro day working him out

5. Emanuel Hall, WR, Missouri, Mecole Hardman, WR, Georgia, or Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame
Deep threats. In Hardman's case, also adds top PR in draft skills.

6a b c, 7 EDGE, K, Punter, DL Expect no fewer than 2 Special Teams selections of some kind here. Their Special Teams were terrible and they retained the coach. They believe they need different players.

Vosean seems out of play for 1.20.

1. LB Mack Wilson
2. EDGE Charles Omenihu
3a. S Juan Thornhill
3b. TE Kahale Warring
4. WR
5. CB

Why on Vosean, red flags?

Nope... just that Tombert did not attend pro day.

Here's where Tombert has appeared so far:

Clemson
Michigan
Bama
ND
WVU
LSU
A&M
Texas

Here are the underaged prospects at those schools:

CB: Julian Love, Trayvon Mullen, Greedy Williams, Saivion Smith
S: Deointe Thompson
LB: Bush, White, Mack Wilson, David Long, Tyrel Dodson
DL: Rashan Gary, Quinnen Williams, Dexter Lawrence, Charles Omenihu
OL: Jonah Williams
TE: Irv Smith
WR: LJ Humphrey
RB: Traveon Williams, Josh Jacobs

Under TJ Watt "normal" age threshold:

EDGE: Austin Bryant, Clelin Ferrell
CB: Mark Fields
LB: Te'Von Coney
DL: Kingsley KeKe, Bert Huggins, Daylon Mack
OL: Erik McCoy, Mitchell Hyatt
TE: Foster Moreau, Alize' Mack
WR: Miles Boykin, Gary Jennings
RB: Dexter Williams, Damien Harris

Unless Tombert makes an appearance at Washington or USC or Stanford, or unless they deviate from their habits... the 1st round pick and possibly 2nd/3rd round picks are on that list.
