The biggest weakness you'll see here is no edge and no TE. But we make up for it in other ways.

28: R1P28
LB LEIGHTON VANDER ESCH
BOISE STATE

Hubbard off the board in this scenario. i like LVE better than Evans and Harrison so I made the call here to take him and pray hes Urlacher 2.0.

60: R2P28
S JESSIE BATES III
WAKE FOREST

Consensus here seems to be that he will be gone by now but I make the pick anyway.

92: R3P28
WR DAESEAN HAMILTON
PENN STATE

148: R5P11
DL KENDRICK NORTON
MIAMI

165: R5P28
LB SHAQUEM GRIFFIN
CENTRAL FLORIDA

220: R7P2
DL P.J. HALL
SAM HOUSTON STATE

246: R7P28
RB MARTEZ CARTER
GRAMBLING

One of the best mocks I've seen here... and that's even considering the risk/mixed opinions associated with Vander Esch. The rest of the draft is that good.

First 3 are solid as long as LVE last to 28 and Bates to 60. I see no way Griffin falls to 5th, he's been rising since combine and workouts, he's pretty much settled to 3rd round by this point. Would love to
get him but not happening in 5th.

92: R3P28 EDGE ARDEN KEY LSU
148: R5P11 DL ANDREW BROWN VIRGINIA
165: R5P28 RB KALEN BALLAGE ARIZONA STATE
220: R7P2 CB MICHAEL JOSEPH DUBUQUE

We don't go near guys like Key.
Martavis was the last guy we drafted with issues like that and will stay that way for a while IMO.

I do like Valdes-Scantling though. 6'4 with 4.4 speed. Needs to learn routes but worth the risk in the 7th round.

Valdez-Scantling is a nice value buy, Height-adjusted Speed score is really good, and that's generally a positive for being a deep threat.

I wonder if Thomas Owens from FIU is on the Steelers' radar. He's a good fit for them as a late round guy who can play inside/outside, is solidly built and a good blocker, can get separation deep, even vs. very good CBs.
