my oldest child goes to SMU, and he's been raving about Trey Quinn since the Fall, even w/ C. Sutton on that team....Got a chance to watch Quinn at Parent's Weekend game---think he had 12 catches or something....Perfect slot receiver in the 5th...as Pettis likely goes in the 4th...imho....

There are a TON of fine WRs on day 3.

Thomas Davis from FIU
Richie James from Middle Tennessee
Jonah Tinnaman from BYU

I like Trey Quinn, too... but Davis offers more all-around game and Tinnaman is like a taller Tyreke Hill. Their QB situation there in BYU was first read and run like hell-- often you see Tinnaman waving his arms wide open or 5 yards behind the defense. He's definitely raw, but for bubble screens and deep balls... he's your guy.

Quote:
Freakishly athletic WR Jonah Trinnaman (5-10 1/2, 192) put on a show: 4.31/4.28 40s, 41.5 vertical, 12-0 broad. Wow!!!

This is a really weak WR class ( a'la 2006). I will not be surprised if no WR are drafted in the 1st round.

I guess what I'm saying is... the distance between the top guys and the bottom guys is not huge. There are a couple I don't mind in rounds 2 or 3, and then I'd be just as happy with a handful of late round guys.

Interesting tidbit on O'Daniel

Quote:
A fifth-year senior, O'Daniel arrived at the Greenville, S.C., school via Gaithersburg, Md. But don't let the area code confuse you. He is Canonsburg-born and Pittsburgh proud.

He is a 412/724 guy, just like his dad, Roger Scott, a running back at Woodland Hills High and Slippery Rock 20 years ago, and paternal grandfather Roger McKinnon, who played at Braddock High in the '60s.

O’Daniel’s family moved from Canonsburg to Maryland to be with his maternal grandfather when he was in the seventh grade.

Fittingly, the burgeoning star’s first college offer came from hometown Pitt when he was just a freshman at Our Lady of Good Counsel High, which sent seven of his former teammates to the NFL. Former Panthers coach Todd Graham, he of one-and-done fame, liked what he saw in the athletic running back-linebacker.

"It was a special moment, because Pitt knew I was from the area and they recognized me early," O'Daniel said. "The recruiting process got pretty crazy afterwards."

Though Pitt wasn't it for O'Daniel, whom Rivals.com ranked as the 40th overall prospect his senior year, he still remains true to his roots.

"I'm faithfully repping the Steelers, no doubt about it," said O'Daniel, who planned to commit to Michigan, but had his offer pulled days before a scheduled visit his junior year. "I have memorabilia all over the house. Needless to say, that loss to the Patriots hurt me. Their fans came out of the woodwork to give me a hard time."

I like the second two guys a lot. James is one of my three favorite late round WRs
