Antonio Brown's calf is good to go. His immune system? Not so much.

The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver was sent home from practice Friday with an illness, coach Mike Tomlin told reporters. Tomlin did say that Brown has "looked really good" this week in his return from a calf injury that sidelined him for the season's final two weeks.

In other injury news, Steelers cornerback Artie Burns (knee) and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (elbow) were full participants in practice and should be good to go Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If and when Brown gets over his illness, Pittsburgh will enter this postseason far healthier than in years past.

Word is that AB has looked fantastic, coupled with the Tuitt/Burns news, Steelers look to be completely healthy and ready to roll.

I'm assuming part of the reason they sent him home was to avoid getting anyone else sick.

Does loss of fluid impact the calf muscle injury?

ive only stayed at a holiday inn but... No it does not and he'll also be getting an IV of fluids as needed. He was sent home to guard against his bug being spread throughout the team.

That was my first thought. What a shitty thing it would be to have an almost completely healthy team wiped out by a flu bug.

The problem for the Jags is that AB is siccmade, and last time I checked, it's the season of da siccness.

WTF is wrong with me?

Not reported earlier, but it looks like J-Wobble is back too! Good to hear.

Steelers CB Artie Burns (knee) returned to practice on Friday.

He hyperextended his right knee on Wednesday. With Javon Hargrave (back) and Stephon Tuitt (elbow) also back at practice, Pittsburgh should be relatively healthy for Sunday's Divisional Round game against Jacksonville.

Anyone else gets anxious about the injury report? I swear I hate waiting for the news to come out and some doomsday report follows...

It will never end will it?

It's a (possible) negative thing almost every day with this team.

I am BRUTALLY nervous for this game, yet I can't wait any longer for 1 pm Sunday.

The only injury report I care about is the one that comes out AFTER this game.

We win this Sunday whether AB has a bit of the flu bug or Artie Burns gets his period.

I went back and looked at every JAGS game, they win with the run and lose when they have to throw. We have to stop the run and force him to throw.

Like some of Cowher's pre-Ben teams.

It has less to do with the Steelers and more with our 24/7 news cycle and the constant need for sportswriters to create a story. Just to recap:
- The Titans were going to fire Mularky had they lost to the Chiefs
- Bellichick didn't want to trade Jimmy G and there has been a power struggle between Bill, Brady, and Kraft

I'm way past the point of taking any news story without a major grain of salt.

Better take care of the fucking ball.

This Jags defense is deep and it's fucking for real.

I love that we're confident but this is going to be a very tough game.

I'm worried about protecting Ben for 4 quarters against these motherfuckers.

I sure hope you're right.

I'm not that worried about Jacksonville's offense ALTHOUGH Bortles' legs could be a problem.

Jacksonville's defense is fucking badass. Plain and simple. We fuck around, they will take the ball away from us.

No doubt there defense is good, once we get up by a couple scores early, and force the Jags into pass mode, its gonna get ugly quickly for them in fact I see us having a pick 6 this time and maybe even 2 of em.

If steeler D has any pride, and I'm pretty sure they do, they have to be sick and tired of hearing about the greatness of the Jax D.

For all the talk of the Jax D....they gave up 2.5 points per game less than the steelers.

For all the talk of the atrociousness of the Jax O....there's only 4 teams in the league that scored more points. One of them is NOT the steelers. (I understand points scored includes defensive scores - but i'm not doing the research).

Jax also. 500 team on the road (of course 1 of those against Pitt).

Took all the stats from nfl.com standings page.

Meh.

While they do have a good D, Ben’s had to go thru better. And if he can’t score more points at home than a Bortles led team given the weapons he has at his deposal as well as the oline he has then maybe he should retire.

These are games guys with his resume go out and take care of business and move on to the next level.

Especially in today’s NFL where rules favor the offense. No defense in the league today is so good that they can carry an inept offense much further than this.

Winner of the next rounds and Super Bowl will need to score points regardless of the defenses.

This is a must win if we are who we think we are.

It’ll be close early because we might be tight from the layoff but they won’t be able to hang with us for 4 quarters.

If AB actually has influenza and just came down with it, he ain't playing. He must have a nasty cold or something.

There are some nasty colds and flus out there right now.

After all the good news, this is disheartening.

Would be a shame that he work like such a beast to be healthy just to miss the game for illness. Would be more than annoying to have another playoff game without one of our stars.

Re-watched the steeler/raven game last night. Steelers very likely lose without AB. Not having him would be a bigger factor than anyone here wants to admit.

AB could have Legionnairre's Disease, and ain't no way he's missing this game. Happens that players come down with some shit, even flu, team pumps them full of stuff, they're good to go. Will be no different for AB. Count on him being out there come gametime.
