SI reporting he has been taken to a Level 1 Trauma Center.

https://twitter.com/SInow/status/937879072260198400

Quote:
A Level I trauma center provides the highest level of surgical care to trauma patients. Being treated at a Level I trauma center increases a seriously injured patient’s chances of survival by an estimated 20 to 25 percent.[16] It has a full range of specialists and equipment available 24 hours a day[17] and admits a minimum required annual volume of severely injured patients.

Not good.

So much for "Shazpussy"... the guy risked his life or at least his lifestyle running around the field like a madman every snap for douchebags like us. I never saw his legs move and I'm sick to my stomach.

Of course he was compensated well for the risk but I couldn't care less if we won this game.

I'm hoping that they knew it was clearly a back/spinal injury, and took him there because it was closest, rather than took him there because he needed that level of treatment on it.

I have never seen Colbert on the sideline talking to Tomlin besides when we were minutes away from hoisting a Lombardi...

Not good.

That doesn't mean much. You have a possible spinal injury and UC Hospital is probably the closest major facility. It's not like they're going to take him to urgent care

I hope that's correct and sounds completely plausible.

Let us retire "Shazpussy" for the life the board.

He had the ability to flip himself over after the hit, and to reach for his back -- this was no Daryl Stingley injury

I shall continue to hope for the best -- NO PARALYSIS .

This isn’t an indication of anything, really.

This is what I think it is. And hope it is. I've never seen any major longterm spinal cord paralysis injuries where the guy is able to do so much with his upper body immediately following the hit. Didn't Tommy Maddox have something similar? Pulling for you SHaz

Let us hope the worst part of his injury turns out to be that he has to spend an extra day in Cincinnati.

Upper body can do that. Zero movement in his legs,& he grabbed at his upper Lumbar area.

Hoping for the best, but damn that looked brutal

Just to clarify something: it is literally a crime to disclose patient information without consent. Also, any hospital employee who leaks info will be fired for a HIPAA violation.

I work in a hospital - I've seen people get fired on the spot for pulling their own medical history. This is something hospitals don't fuck around with.

Basically what I'm saying is don't treat no news as bad news

ESPN reporter at the hospital reported that stadium security said he was gesturing to his lower body which was completely limp as he was put in the ambulance FWIW.

The degree to which Tomlin was evasive about the injury and the lack of details in the post game is unusual and alarming.
