He didn't live up to expectations, and it took playing time away from future players. Grimble was non existent for exactly that reason, so they shoved aside another player(s) to make room for green - and he didn't put up the kind of numbers they expected him to.

Except Green didn't keep a potentially better player from getting PT. Extremely doubtful that Grimble or James are some prize as receiving threat, that their growth was stunted and "if only they'd got more opportunities, they would have become twice as good as their part-time results. I don't buy it. They swung for the fences and hit. 250.

Justifiably why the wahhh, wahhh, wahhh wahhh's from fans.

Not only did the Steelers sign him after Green had ankle surgery in January 2016, a source told the Post-Gazette that they never fully investigated his history of concussions with the Chargers. A surgeon reportedly inserted two metal plates in his ankle and it still was not fully recovered when training camp opened in 2016, when the Steelers placed Green on the physically unable to perform list. Sources at the time told the Post-Gazette that headaches, and not his ankle, was what kept him on PUP until he finally joined them in November to start a six-game stretch before his season ended for good with a concussion. http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/stee ... 1705180204

Read into it what you will. Not trying to convince anyone of my opinion. IMO, Dumb, frivolous, poor business decisions and less than desirable results like this mock this team's destiny. For you folks too willing to write it all off as a low risk high reward gamble. These are your results. This isn't the Only Case where this has happened. It's not all about the cap either. That's just the acute results. The chronic results are this team fails in many instances that they should be successful. It's this type of thinking that has many in Steeler Nation infuriated. It's this type of asinine and very Uninformed decision making that keep costing the Steelers their place in the NFL hierarchy. So by all means necessary explain away the stupidity year after year and while you're at it single out the fans that find it unacceptable by labeling them as spoiled or uneducated. Now I'm over it. /rant

I'd say it's closer to .185 when you were expecting .350.

They paid Green like a middle tier starter, and he finished about 31st in production, so more like they expected a .279 hitter and got a .250 hitter. Seriously. Sure they were hoping he'd have a huge year but they paid him like a .279 hitter.

Shit, the way he was hyped on this esteemed website made it sound like he was the second coming of Kelce. Was gonna take the offense to a spectacular, unbeatable level.

How do you get a .250 hitter playing less than half the season? He'd need to hit at least .400 for it to average out.

A player who spoke with tight end Ladarius Green post-release said Green's hoping to play this season and sign with a team as a free agent. https://twitter.com/JFowlerESPN/status/ ... 4074527744
Buyer Beware?!

So if this clown signs with another team will this lessen our cap hit? If so then I hope he lands somewhere....I think that's the worst part of the whole deal.....

he had 6 games of EXCELLENT production. With just those 6 games, he still accumulated decent numbers-- akin to what a good #2 TE might do in a season. To beat my baseball analogy to death, Green was activated after the All-Star break and was a key part of the stretch run, getting hurt in early September, before the playoffs.
