Love that the bye week splits the season in half. That I believe can be advantageous for the Steelers. The rats followed by the cheats in weeks 14 and 15 is going to be a rough ride. Other than that... Here We Go!

Go Steelers!

Ben is soooooooo much better at home than he is on the road. This is a very good thing. And one of the away games is against a Colts team we've been steamrolling lately.

First half of the schedule is cake, we could go at least 9-0 with a strong effort.

You know better than that by now.

hard to say anything definitive at this point, but it would seem we at least have the opportunity to get off to one of our best starts ever

it's hard for me to find a definite loss before the bye, though i think we drop one to Balti or Cinci, possibly KC

Indianapolis is probably due for a win against us, pending Andrew Luck's health at that point in the season, and we'll be lucky to come out of the Green Bay/Cinci/Balti/New England stretch at 2-2 (though, hey, only road game is at Paul Brown, where we own the Bungles), but last two games should save us

10-6 is our floor, imo

i'm too averse to looking like dyed in the wool fanboy to state what i think our ceiling might be

Maybe it's just me, but that schedule looks a little easier than the Steelers usual draw. Am I wrong?

Sample size. Not really true if you look over the course of his career.

If the defense improves and they have Bryant back.

Otherwise, I'd argue 10-6 is our ceiling...and I usually seem to predict 1-2 more wins than they end-up with. If they start slow, like they often do, they will be in big trouble.

they always look easy till they begin playing. somehow the easy games turn to struggles. my favorite parts are the mid season bye and season bookended by browns games. we can ease into season if u will and get a late season breather for playoff prep..

Roger usually like to fuck us scheduling NE early in the year.

Getting them late will mean PIT is usually playing its best football, and it COULD have seeding implications which is added incentive....plus, if they get their ass kicked late in the year the coaches might actually come up with a different gameplan in the playoffs.

It would not shock me to see the Steelers not game plan for the Patriots game just assuming that they can then change it up in the post season after ceding the home game opportunity to NE.

My initial thoughts...Could win 9 games...Could win 12 games.

So I will guess 10-6

At cincy only cold weather away game. Key early game away Chicago. MB will be back with scorched earth, roll Cleve and Minn. Chicago game is typical kind of game that Tomlin allows to get out of control. The Chicago game will determine seeding. Win away in Chicago and go 3 and 0 we might have a shot for a bye.

Well I thought when I first saw the placement of the Pats game that maybe we were set up as the perfect choice for a flex to my dream of a home SNF game.

Then I looked to see what was scheduled there that week - Cowboys at Raiders. I'm screwed. Dallas can be 0-14 and the NFL still wouldn't move their "money" team away from the lights.

I still think we can take them. We'll see. I hate 4:25 starts.

  9-0. that's a riot. Are they trading Tomlin this offseason or something? they could start 0-1 the way they lay stinkers on the road against bad teams.

We'll be 5-4, but rally to win the division at 11-5 as usual.

Someone today told me the Steelers travel less than any team in the NFL next season.

Is this true?

I'm aware of this. Unfortunately time only flows in one direction, and it's away from the rest of his career. If we want an idea of how he'll play this season, it makes more sense to look at 2015 and 2016 than 2005 or 2010.

The schedule is almost always preset in terms of the teams. You have your 6 divisional games, then you play two other divisions that rotate yearly, thats 8 more games. So that just leaves two wild card games which they match up with teams that had similar divisional results the previous year I believe. That would be NE and KC this year.

Everyone is saying how easy the early schedule is. Well they are playing 6 of the first 9 games on the road. We may be in for a rude awakening.

I see a 16-0 regular season, 15-1 worst case.

Tomlin pulls his head out of his ass for 16 straight games. ReTodd calls a magnificent game every game. And Keith does just enough to keep us in each game.

And all our players, regardless of frame size and wrist circumference stay healthy all year.

This is dumb. Ben didn't suddenly forget how to play on the road. His arm didn't suddenly get the yips away from home.

It's just a statistical anomaly, which you clearly DON'T understand or you wouldn't keep bringing it up.

It's not an anomaly, it's a real thing and it costs us football games.

Not to mention Tomlin's less than stellar record of having this team prepared for the "easy" teams...

And not really a fan of getting scheduled on Christmas Day two years in a row.
