Whats your Seattle game plan ??

Heres mine:

- Run at their DEs. Our Ts should be able to get some movement on both.
- Use JuJu and McD underneath and use Washington and DJ to take the top off the defense long to provide space for underneath
- Avoid long lateral movement plays outta the backfield. Seattle is fast we are slow.
- Avoid penalties. This offense doesnt have the juice to eat penalties.

- Dont lose contain on Wilson or the RBs. Make their runs between the hashes.
- Double Metcalf and dont get beat deep and behind on the back end by everyone else.
- Seattle will get their yards. We will get killed if we try to defend every blade of grass for 75 yards. We have to force FGs when the field gets short.

Seattle is a weird team. Alot like the Steelers in that they often seem to me to have an agenda with their playcalls that doesnt seem to best utilize their best weapons IMO.

Switzer has to stay OFF the field on offense.
FGs and field position are going to matter in this game.

Andy Dalton (without AJ Green) just torched Seattle's secondary for 400+ yards
The Bengals garbage defense sacked Russell Wilson 4 times.

The Steelers should be better in both phases of the game than Cincinnati.

I agree with all of that. Except.

The Bengals have a new HC and played real aggressive the entire game. The Steelers dont do that anymore.

I'd get Switz, McD and Juju involved early and often over the middle, and use wash and dj on the outside. Fuck throwing long till Ben gets his shit together. Fuck running the ball till we get a big lead.

That seems to be a common theme when a loss happens but doesnt really address much does it ??

I thought the defense played pretty well until things got out of hand

IMO it mightve been a closer loss if Washington and DJ saw more snaps

Offensively:

Steelers need to run enough to establish Conner as a threat and bring Wagner/Wright up so we can exploit the middle of the field. Ben needs to realize that Brady, Rivers, and Brees are lasting as long as they are because of play-action. We should be a phenomenal play-action team and it will allow us to get JuJu out of bracket coverage by messing with the safeties. Seahawks secondary has not played well and WR screens hurt them a lot vs. the Bengals. I would like to see Vance get back into the gameplan a lot this week if Wagner isn’t covering him.

Defensively:

Steelers need to play stout run D and focus on containing Wilson. He’s a great PA QB, very mobile, and has a fantastic deep ball, however he is a complete midget. If Butler can do one thing, he can design interior LB blitzes. This is the time to break those out. Big push from Tuitt, Hargrave, and Heyward. Bracket Lockett and don’t get beat deep by Metcalf (I’d shadow him with Edmunds).

Yes.

Let's hope Ben hangs Switz out to dry continually over the middle until something really "good" happens and we can replace him with a real receiver.

That sounds like an awesome plan. You're missing 2 things... the coaching staff to game plan it to success and the Jimmy's and Joe's to execute it to success.

Hopefully they'll show up for the game unlike Foxboro.

Well, hung out to dry or not, I'd say he needs ten targets and a couple carries. He can take a hit and hang on to the ball.

They showed up just fine if you rewatch the game. They really only gave up one HUGE BAD play

Dorsett to the post for the TD. Edmunds and Kelly were HORRIBLE on that play.
That and the Steelers will never learn you cant give the NE WRs free running room off the line. But again thats much deeper than Tomlin.

Contrary to popular BS Ben was ON FIRE except for MAYBE 4 or 5 throws outta 47 (and the interception wasnt on him at all)

Wow! Those are some great drugs you must be doing.

This was an embarrassment of epic proportions. I was in Section 340 that night. You were obviously watching reruns of Mr. Ed or something. Ben was on fire? Hahahahaha that is fucking hilarious! He barely completed over 50% of his passes. No TD's and an INT. If that's on fire to you, your standards are below the line, if you will. Get serious STD. I mean truly serious. Stop being a complete joke on this site. Your act has grown old.

This coming from a guy who brags about not watching the nfl anymore.

Watch the game film. You wont find more than 5 bad passes. If that.

You are wrong about INT being on Ben as well.

Jack don't feed the troll. Why they let him back on this site is beyond me. Maybe for comic relief from having so miserable a team? That fucker's been banned more times from this site than a whore's panties goes up and down.

#1 Put Tomlin into a gunny sack.
#2 Administer forceful blows to said sack via baseball bat or other blunt instrument.
#3 Drop sack in river.

Great success.

1.). If WRs practiced fighting for their lines
2.) if IMLBs practiced taking better lines to the sidelines.
3.) if DBs practice causing friction on receivers all over the field, especially at the line of scrimmage.
4.) if coach Tomlin learns how to get a 15 yard penalty for screaming at the refs when DBs are riding our receivers like mules, all game and every game
5.) more than five players show up with their A game.

Take care of those 5 things, and you will win with most game plans. This will not work against the Pats.

STD is spot on about Ben’s passes. I said the same thing more or less on Monday after rewatching(non-all-22).

Don't play this defense:

https://steelersdepot.com/2019/09/film- ... sus-empty/

It’s man coverage. So here are the matchups.

CB Joe Haden –> FB James Develin
CB Steven Nelson –> RB Rex Burkhead
SS Terrell Edmunds –> TE Ryan Izzo
ILB Vince Williams –> WR Julian Edelman
OLB Bud Dupree –> WR Josh Gordon

I’d love to be able to tell you I learned something here, even if it’s something negative. But this is merely a continuation of what this defense has done for years and there’s seemingly been no changes made. And until there are, teams – good ones, anyway – are going to spread the field out.

You don’t need the best group of receivers either. This isn’t five receivers on the field. Go heavy, put out tight ends and running backs, and simply align your receivers in the slot. Easy money against this unit. Much of the blame falling on the coaches for asking their linebackers to run with these guys, an impossible task.

Mind boggling...
