Quote:
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Head Coach Mike Tomlin said he is pretty optimistic about the slew of injuries suffered by the Steelers last week.

There was one significant injury that Tomlin brought to the table when he spoke with the media during his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Coach said fullback and special teams captain Roosevelt Nix suffered a knee injury and could miss multiple games.

“Rosie Nix is one that’s probably a little bit different worth mentioning,” Tomlin said. “He has a knee injury that’s being evaluated. He may miss this game and another or two. I’ll have more information as we gather it regarding him.”

“Coach Tomlin on injuries: Players like Maurkice Pouncey and JuJu Smith-Schuster he mentioned after SNR may be limited in the early portions of the week.
NEW today, Rosie Nix has a knee injury that may make him miss Sunday’s game vs. Seattle.”

The list of other players who were banged up including Joe Haden (Sprained AC Joint) seem to be hopeful for Sunday’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Tomlin says Haden, along with T.J. Watt, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Maurkice Pouncey will be limited early in the week, and their practices will dictate the pace of their return to the lineup.

Sure you do. He is the Special teams ace who celebrated a failed fake punt last year.

Oh yeah, the guy who rots on the bench while we kick from the one yard line down 20.

And the Pats were using Develin all over the field Sunday night as a blocker and decoy it was crazy.

That's a shame. I think we were going to feature him in our deep passing game on Sunday.

Jokes aside I like Nix, but he serves no purpose in our offense in its current state.

They keep this useless bum on the roster year after year, but let good looking young players like Skipper, and the fast ass WR go, and get picked up by other teams.

Nix has been a pretty solid player in his role for years

far from a bum

I agree, though they certainly weren't making much good use of him in last week's game. If they're going to run the deadly Sidney Moncrief/Ryan Shitzer spread offense all year, they probably should have just kept Skipper.

Moncrief and Switzer are horrible ...... I cant believe they wont just throw DJ and Washington in deep water and try to teach them to swim . Then again. Its the Rooney Way. I shouldve known better.

Really not sure what Washington in particular had to do in the preseason to earn playing time over those two. Really just unforgivable use of personnel.

Is anyone really surprised at this though?

Last time Bryant was kicking NE's ass and they got out to a lead. Then they remove Bryant to go "run heavy"...a game that they lost due to Jesse James

When you're as big an optimist as I am about this team every offseason, games like this tend to be full of unpleasant surprises that probably should just be unpleasant.
