The longest an NFL player has gone between Super Bowl victories is 12 years (Ray Lewis).

Ben’s drought currently sits at 10 years.

Let us hope he gets off the snide next year.

Interesting.

I thought this thread was going to be about "what if Ben had a good coach?"

Get in the playoffs. I think this season is wide open.

Well to be fair you have to win 1, and you have to be pretty young to do it so that you can actually have a career 10-12 years after winning in this league.

A hit or miss proposition when you have such daunting obstacles like having to beat a 2 win team on the road.

I agree with THN here. It seems to me like winning Super Bowls 12 years apart is hardly a mark of shame. There must be tons of players who won a Super Bowl early, played a number of years, and never won one again, so they wouldn't even be on this list.

Well, Tomlin has made the playoffs in the past so there is the possibility he could do it again.

I didn't mean it as a mark of shame, just saying it's nearly unprecedented.

Tiger Woods was unprecedented this year too with 11 years between Majors. Mixture of team and individual should make it less daunting in the NFL.

Bill Cowher went the most years of any coach (14) before he won a Super Bowl. I don't count Dick Vermeil because he took a decade and a half off from coaching.

There is always a first time for everything.

Bunch of voodoo. He can still play. He can still win. Even if his play slips, the supporting cast is rising.

Certainly.

But he’s also missed the playoffs and bye weeks in the past by dropping winnable games against the dregs of the league so there is the possibility he could do it again. Works both ways obviously.

Standard and all.

That Oakland game last year looked like it was coached by a Saturday pee-wee league dad/coach.

What he can’t do again is win another SB on the back of a roster and coaching staff largely put together by somebody else.

He’s all on his own.

And it’s shown.
