I was going to post something similar, I don’t think this guys loves (or loved)football. He worked it to get a couple of million dollars, and he’s done with it. As in working his ass off, he wants to collect the check and fade away.

Tomlin coached vet DB's in Tampa. They credit him with a lot, but they already had skills. But he somehow got them playing better as a unit.

Tomlin coached a vet team in Pitt to a SB and another appearance.

He hasn't done too much having to build and bring up the talent on his own.

Apparently his strength is leading and getting established pro's to play to their abilities?

Maybe he would've had a better career if he went from club to club that had the vet talent but needed a new face/message.

I have a feeling this is more about Artie being dumb as a rock.

The dude ALWAYS, I mean....ALWAYS bites on double moves.

I loathe Tomlin, but I just don't think they can coach this out of him.

Artie has never seen a double move he didn't bite on.

Sad, because he is a skilled football player. He's just an imbecile.

Inconceivable!

The dude believes he already has CTE.

He’s brain-dead.

Shoot that pig.

Keep dreaming. Artie is a POS. As is Tomlin.

As is Farmer.

So, miraculously, a lousy DB, will salvage his career with the lousiest ST coach, while demonstrating Deion Sanders level tackling technique and getting tutored by our lousy HC?

I can see that happening...

Maybe,

But I can't see him going all out on ST's..............knowing his CTE comments.
Which could have him not 100% in on sprinting down the field to hit and tackle

This is the problem when you draft athletes vs football players

Look no further than Dupree vs watt

Dupree has a ton of physical skills but struggles to actually play the game. Watt loves football and breathes it

Burns doesn't love the game

Sad but it does seem like it. The one thing I could see is the curious case of Ivan Taylor. He watched pittsburgh draft Ricardo Cochlough and Bryant McFadden in back to back years but he came into camp and won the job in 2005. He was NOT the brightest kid, but he also had no other option but to succeed in football.

Burns has his brothers and son to think of. I can see those responsibiliites taking him away from his homework, but maybe he responds with his back squarely against the wall and has a good camp showing.

99% sure he doesn't but it doesnt hurt to give him a shot before his roster bonus is due in late summer.
