According to the talking heads. Means to me they have zero faith in Washington or they are being used to drive Pats price up

I’d be highly shocked if we sign Tate & Moncrief.

Pleasantly surprised though.

Would open up draft to grab two defenders and a TE with first three picks.

Washington looks unnatural to me. A bit Sweed like clumsy. Not to be trusted yet.

Something to consider, but currently we’ve:

Lost:

Bell
Jesse James
LJ Fort

Added:

Nelson
Moncrief

Fort’s contract should count to the compensatory formula, but if we sign another qualifying FA we lose that third for Bell in 2020. I love Tate as a player but question the fit somewhat.

Tate would immediately start alongside JuJu.

Washington and Moncrief would be 3 and 4.

Tate is ONE HELLUVA player.

Hell yes.

That would also allow us to gamble on a receiver later in the draft, possibly a speedster or worry about the position next year entirely.

Ben would FUCKING LOVE having Tate around.

Now see Steelers, Pats and Cowboys looking at Tate.
Price has probably gone up.
I was hoping word on Tate would stay quiet a few more days and his price comes down.

Have to think he is $7 million on low end?

He would start as #2 game one.

JuJu, Tate. Moncrief, Washington, Switz, Rodgers with Trey Griffey and Tevin Jones competing with Rodgers for 6th spot is a nice group of WRs.

Pushes drafting a WR down to 3rd or 4th round unless someone drops.

He would go nuts playing with Ben.

We're not getting a 3rd anyways. There's like 8 or 10 players that have signed bigger contracts than Bell this off season. Might as well sign another quality FA, whether that's Tate or not who knows.

Yes he is.
Could see easy 8-10 TD.
Tuff sob.
Tuff in traffic.

We sign Tate...
It then could be a draft of TE and defense

While I think tate has something left in the tank, from what I've seen, he's more of a #3 than #2 at this point of his career. I wouldnt mind him, but only at a lower price than he probably wants.

If its between us and the Pats im not getting my hopes up. I believe Edelman is the only wr they have right now. You have to believe they will give him more than we will. But who knows, maybe they will surprise me.

Yup.

Add Tate and draft Hockenson or Fant and I’ll be excited about this offense.

Yup.

Be shocked if Tate is wearing B and G next year.

Likely they offer more money and more hope.

Throw in Switzer as the #5/package guy, add a mid/late round pick, and they'd be set.

The Pats have less cap room than the Steelers at the moment, and Pittsburgh could create more by extending Ben or Haden.

No, Moncrief would be the #3 and Wash #4, unless he makes a big 1st to 2nd year leap.

They would definitely fight it out in camp for those jobs for sure.

But...I think Washington is going to come around. He played great in the preseason and I think he simply lost confidence as the season went along.

What I did like about Washington though, is that after Ben literally called him out for fucking up continuously, Washington put his head down and went to work.

He played SIGNIFICANTLY better down the stretch and started to look like what we hoped he would look like when we drafted James.

I will not be at all surprised if James Washington turns into a very, very good player for us, as soon as this upcoming season. He has all the tools.
