That was the biggest play of the game, by far.

If we go 3 and out there, from our End zone, giving the ball back at the 50 -- we probably lose that game.

The Dobbs completion showed me that the kid has absolute ice in his veins, and the coaching staff trusts him 100%.

HUGE PLAY - for the game and the season.

No. It wasn't. Let's not get carried away.

Agree. Chances are all they would have gotten would have been 3 points the way the D was playing. It was second and 20. All he had to do is not throw an interception.

well, it's a matter of opinion, of course

but there is no other play that was as big --not one.

That completion changed the momentum at the time. everything was going Balt's way and you could feel the game turning away from us.

After that completion, we got out of our end zone, no punt - Ben comes back, and completes a bobbled 50 yarder to JJ, and then we score a FG. None of that happens without the completion by Dobbs.

Just so impressive. hIs FIRST EVER nfl pass -- just incredible poise by that young man.

It was good to feel that drafting Dobbs was no longer a wasted pick. Something that was shown in the preseason & proven yesterday. Perhaps, we won't be in such bad shape with him & Rudolph when Big Ben may be out &/or fades away?

It was 1 play, a non scoring play, with a 7 point lead and over 12 minutes left in the game.

A lot of players busted their asses to get this win. Dobbs pass means nothing if we were not already in position to win. Dobbs pass doesn't mean much if the next series ended in a punt.

We had a 51 yd pass play on the same possession after Ben returned. Lots of players stepped up and made plays necessary for this win.

Having said that...

It was a huge emotional moment in the game. I was shitting my pants seeing Ben laying there after landing awkwardly with weight towards the throwing shoulder.

I was stunned that we threw that pass with Dobbs in the game. The Steelers bar where I was watching went crazy. A couple of us saying Fichtner dropped balls of steel. I then started a Dobbs chant... Dobb, Dobbs, Dobbs :D

Good times!!!

You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to know that throw was coming.

Sorry...I had to.

...and again it was a called pass, there was no check to pass from a run call.

Just so everyone knows, Ben Roethlisberger was joking when he said Josh Dobbs checked out of a run play to a pass. It was an intended pass for JuJu all the way. Ben was kidding, ok.

What s scary is Mitch Trubisky would struggle to throw that to JuJu in stride in mid game...forget about zero warmups.
Reminds me of the time Charlie Batch went into Baltimore and beat the Ravens in the game where Manny had a big drop.

what is scary is that the bears spent a #1 overall pick on MT -- and I think dobbs might be better - and what was he - a late 4th rounder?

It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard.

I'm never going to be a "one play won/lost the game" person. Never. JJ's TD? Didn't lose the game for us. Just my opinion.

So at least we can all say that Dobbs balled hard. PRESSURE. No warm up. PRESSURE. Tight throw. PRESSURE.

Did I mention the pressure he was under? It's the Ravens. Close game. Terrible field position. 4th Quarter.

Kudos to Dobbs for balling out. HUGE play that took some wind out of the rats' sails.

Why's everyone so surprised that up 7 points, 2nd & 20 at our own 5, 4Q...we're throwing the ball? Regardless of who's under center?

Well dude Dobbs came in cold off the the bench.

Everybody in that entire stadium and watching at home figured a draw was coming.

No way on earth I ever believed they’d let a guy who’s never thrown the football in a meaningful game fire it down the field in THAT situation.

Brass balls.

Swiss -- you can't be serious. You actually expected A PASS PLAY from a QB who has NEVER THROWN A PASS IN AN NFL GAME EVER?

Come on, man -- that's simply not true.

EVERYONE was expecting hand off up the middle. Dude came in cold off the bench, NEVER has thrown a pass EVER in the NFL - throwing FROM HIS OWN END ZONE== at a CRITICAL, PIVOTAL point in the game, when Ravens were gaining momentum -- NO ONE in that stadium - and definitely not the Ravens - was expecting him to sling it down the middle for 25 yards -- r u fucking kidding me?

KC is exactly right EVERYONE was expecting dive up the middle.

The play call was 1000% brass balls - and I loved it. That's partly why it worked. Totally unexpected. Ravens playing run all the way.

Sorry...believe it or not, I wasn't expecting a dive up the middle, or a draw, or anything of the sort.

No way in hell can a pass play on 2nd & 20, even if it was Groucho Fuckin' Marx at quarterback, can be described as "totally unexpected."

So, a running play is called, gains 5 and Ben comes back in 3rd & 15 in the shadow of his own end zone, up 7, 4Q, prepared to give the Ravens the ball back at midfield??? Nope, don't think so.

I was fully expecting Dobbs to pass the ball.

Not only wasn't anyone but swiss expecting pass, but a pass into the middle of the field??? 2 defenders close to JuJu? Maybe a hitch and go around 10-15 yards up the sideline. That's a safe bet with the safety sucked up, anticipating a handoff, and a good chance the corner bites, thinking we're trying to make 3rd down manageable. And even if he doesn't bite, you've still got the security of the sideline. I could have accepted an attempt like that with a cold, inexperienced qb.

But like everyone has said, big set of stones.
