According to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio, the Steelers have now worked out free agent punters Jeff Locke and Justin Vogel in addition to long snapper Nick Meadows.

Locke was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth-round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of UCLA. He has since been a memb

Berry needs replaced. He was mediocre last year, bad in preseason, and awful through two games. I watched him punt in pregame on Sunday and he is really struggling. Hit one off the side of the foot that went out of bounds after about 30 yards. Hit another completely wrong and it went about 20. Watching him vs the Chiefs punter in warm ups it was painfully obvious one guy didn’t belong on that field and it played out that way in the game.

They had a punter in camp that had the second highest net in all of preseason, and in limited real-game action also looked good....and now has gone on to look good for the Vikings.

They let him go.

ST coach should be fired if they're looking for a punter now.

I'm not kidding.

This is fucking ridiculous.

After this teams meltdown my first thought was the punter would be first to go and Tomlin will pretend like there are no major issues.

How do you know Tomlin doesn't think there are major issues?

Mentioned in another thread that Tomlin even alluded to the fact that the position wasn't secure late in the preseason. Struggling to understand the grading standard.

No big surprise in Tomlin-land. Lack of attention to detail as always.

You know. Because Mike Tomlin is always wrong, always incompetent, and unless he comes out in his press conference and explains everything he is thinking or doing in great detail he is a moron.

Pretty much. Scheme? Terrible. Execution? Worse. Penalties? Tons. Talent evaluation? I mean, it's punters. How could you fuck this up to the point where you're looking at replacements after week two unless you're a submoron?

Careful Ice your not supposed to overreact and be well adjusted. Don't want to be brutally honest here. Just want to be perceived as stoic and nonsensical. Never point out the obvious blunder(s) and/or create nicknames either. Others may be offended by middle aged men making up 'dumb' nicknames for players, coaches and teams that aren't likeable to them. Because the board is just not enjoyably PC enough anymore to them, they are the few the proud the snowflakes.

Its comical how bad the ST's on this team have been, and for how long. Seems to go along with lack of attention to fine detail. Getting things like special teams right can make a huge difference when everything else is equal, but it has been our achilles heel for so long.

Seemed to me last season's ST's production wasn't in the shitter. Or perhaps it's just been so bad for so long I was misguided by a few good games?

Or maybe you're looking at last year through this year's lens. After these first two games, last year looks amazing.

I'd say I'd be happy to end up with last year's record, but that went out the window when you tie with the freaking Cleveland Clowns.

Where's Bobby April when you need him?

Choosing between the average to below average, known veteran player................ or the potential upside of a younger player, showing promising skills, with salary cap savings and infusion of youth to the roster.
Pattern.

Its why DHB ............ANNNNNND Hunter,
are both on the roster over getting some youth with more upside like Tevin Jones or Trey Griffey as the #5 or #6 WR.

People here were calling Berry a problem since the Den playoff loss where he couldn't punt for shit in that game. Lost a ton of yards in what became a field position battle late in the game.

But all hail Tomlin; he does no wrong!

Run your fucking business and get this guy off our team already.

Special teams coach a fucking moron, potted plant too? ST's coach and Berry need to be gone yesterday!
