LMAO.

Thanks for this. I've had Nick on ignore ever since he went full on dumbfuck and said he was too smart for the military service life, but this was a treat to read.

I haven't watched either game, only a couple of lowlights.

This team is unlikeable and unwatchable. So is most of the NFL.

If Bell and Bryant had half as much give-a-shit as most of you posters, this would be a championship team.

To paraphrase Brad Pitt in Basterds, "Roger Goodell is making the NFL unwatchable. Oblige him."

Saturdays are for football, Sundays are now free and I'm loving it.

You're all rooting for laundry at this point and Laundry isn't even a Steeler anymore.

Oh, I loved Bubby. He was fun to watch. Him and his never say die attitude.

I was 14 years old and loved Merrill and Bubby. I remember Hoge having a bunch of TDs that year. When Gary Anderson hit that FG against the OIlers, I remember my dad and I jumping up and down and screaming like a bunch of lunatics.

Our opponents have scored 5 more points than us.

We gave our opponents 3 possessions starting in the RZ.

We had the first shot at the winning fg in OT and missed.

We turned the football over 6 times in 1 game.

If the team can hold together and row in the same direction our season might get better.

This.

Small ball does not mean the absence of the occasional deep shot so that first pass to start the game is feigned aggressive.

This offense needs to start games guns blazing and force the other team to try to keep up.

Yep. I recall the Marino Dolphins, the Greatest Show on Turf Rams, and Air Coryell…offenses were so terrifying teams schemed to keep them off the field. As talented as this offense is, I don’t have a sense anyone is afraid ofthem. They give us 37, cool. They just go ahead and score 42. So, I guess we gotta make them like basketball games. Last shot wins.

I am starting to question the idea that this steelers group is all that talented. I think we have some elite fantasy talents and that drives the narrative. Can a team without an elite corner, edge, safety or TE can be considered all that talented? Oh and the Steelers can't punt or return kicks and don't have a 3rd wideout.

I posted my score game guess in this thread accidentally but don't see a "delete post" option. The enigmatic period is the next best option.

Hopefully Washington develops over the course of the season. Ben getting dialed in on the deep ball should help Washington's impact.

We aren't going to be a serious threat if we can only outscore teams.

After 2 games, the defense is...

24th in Pts/Dr
26th in TOs/Dr

That combination will not get it done.

As others have stated, getting Haden back will help.

Maybe Thomas helps eventually.

The only difference is that the Chiefs actually have a running game. Andy Reid's crew is averaging 4.5 yards per carry. That's 10th best in football. Their back, Kareem Hunt, led the NFL in rushing last season.

Meanwhile, Dirk Koetter's Bucs have the worst ground game in the league through the first two weeks, averaging a meager 2.7 yards per carry. Koetter's offensive players barely run the ball. And he hardly seems to care.

Why should he? When Fitzpatrick has completed 78 percent of his passes to the tune of at least 400 yards in each game, the run game hardly seems necessary.

"People desire to be balanced," Koetter said. "But they desire winning more so than being balanced."

The Bucs have done that twice in a row to start the season. In fact, if they beat the Steelers on "Monday Night Football," they can boast wins against the defending AFC North, NFC East (Philadelphia), and NFC South (New Orleans) champions to start the 2018 season. That would be three straight wins with a backup quarterback, against three clubs who combined to total 37 regular-season victories last year.

Impressive. Even more impressive when you consider it has all been done without even the whiff of a run-game threat.
https://triblive.com/sports/columnists/ ... ed-offense

I expect the Bucs find their run game Monday night. I expect they don't miss a beat in their passing game Monday night either. I think the Steelers defense is in real trouble going forward. The schedule isn't going to allow for easing in to games while still shaking off the rust from slow starting. As much as I'd love to see the Steelers go into Tampa and put the NFL on notice I don't expect them to do much of anything but infuriate fans even more with a slow pathetic start and eventual loss that confirms the continual drop off. I hope to be wrong.

That was the day of grandmother, Nunziata Anastasio's, wake. I flew in from New Hampshire morning of the wake as my fantasy draft was back in NH the night before. My brother Tony picked me up at the airport, we said to each other, "What do we do about the game?"

My uncle Oney Ferrari, per the request of his nephews, brought a TV into Nied's Funeral Home in Swissvale (same place where my Mom was laid out two years ago). Charlie Nied set us up in a back room and we watched the whole debacle.

God was pissed that day!!
