I was very unhappy when we spent a third on this guy. Too high of a pick, I thought. Can get much better value further down in the draft, or much better talent in the second round. Overhyped. Yinzer pick.

However this guy is starting to grow on me. The attitude, the work acumen, the guts, the determination. My spidey sense is telling me this guy is going to kick ass and become the next big Steelers star. The narrative is in his favor. And the OL is pissed off and ready to make it happen.

I'm more excited about seeing how Conner does today and in the first part of the season than I've been about an individual player in a long, long time. I'm putting all my eggs in one basket. If he does what I think he will do, it's going to change the way this team plays football. I believe in this kid!

CONNER STRONG

Yup. Can't wait for him to go for over 100 with a td or two.

O line is probably fired up, yes.

Dude leaves the football in the EZ after first ever TD in order to go hug his entire OL. That's how you do it! :)

John Conner's fumble, for as great as he played, was MASSIVE.

ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE.

Bullshit. AB and Ben played like complete JAGs today. Tomlin ran Club Med and his offense wasn't ready to play. The fumble was bad, but Conner otherwise had a great game.

Did Brown even play in preseason?

Because for sure he had zero chemistry with Ben today...the rain I’m sure was some of it, but not all of it.

Ben’s INT on the long play to him...Brown makes those in his sleep. He lost the ball in the air...unbelieveable.

When you fumble at your own goal line, up 21-7....well, you

That’s how games get close.

We talked about this last year. Tomlin doesn't fucking learn. I don't care if it was the Browns - that offense was not ready to play today. And it's because it was the Browns.

Congrats, Dumblin, you probably choked away homefield already in Wk1.

Indeed. Connor cannot be excused for that.

Changed the game. Despite the slop and slather, we were up 21-7 with less than half a quarter to go and had looked good all second half. The fumble completely changed the game.

It's not like someone made a great play to dislodge the ball. He was carrying it extremely irresponsibly. That was a horrible fumble.

Of course dumbass Tomlin didn't make it easy for him by going back to the same well about 15 times more than he should have with the same two plays. Running into a 9 man box is idiotic, regardless of the situation, and it's not like they were up by 40.

All of this aside, I STILL fucking ride with James Conner. He did a great job. Tomlin is a fuckup for not rotating the backs even a little bit. He never learns.

His performance should have been more than enough to win this game.

No. Multiple turnovers on offense, breakdowns on defense, countless penalties, and poor officiating contributed to an unprepared team to change the game. One single play did NOT completely change the game.

Conner cannot fumble that ball, granted. He didnt secure it, so it was totally on him. But that did NOT completely change the game.

If you had said Boz missing the field goal changed it, I wouldn't have said anything. Because the game was on his foot, within range. But we should have had the game won at halftime.

In a blazing downpour, I cannot blame him. He might have fucked up, but any one fuck up is bearable, but when you stack 5 turnovers. . .

It was a hiccup in an otherwise very successful day for him. Shit happens. If he goes the rest of the season without fumbling, I'm sure this board won't care. They'll just point to a fumble in a monsoon.

I thought the defender made a good play punching it out. Could he have secured it better? Absolutely but that wasn't the reason we lost. We have a new OC but the offensive game plan and play calling seemed to be as disappointing as it's been in the past. The HC still shows no discipline, intelligence or adjustments. Ben looked like he usually looks after he hasn't played for a while. The sad part is none of those things will change as long as Tomlin is running things. Being prepared, discipline, preseason reps, overly conservative game plan and lack of adjustments are where he's most consistent.

Except for that 1 play, Conner was great today. Who else can you say that for on offense?

Conner and Watt, and JuJu, were our best players on the field today. Period. Full stop.

Please don't put that loss on the young kid when so many other players and coaches fucked up way more.

I've actually come to the conclusion that it might in fact be a lot of BR when it comes to play calling.

I know it's one game, but the game plan and play calling was eerily similar to haley.

What's the common denominator?

BR.

But yeah, I doubt Tomlin is in the headset.

Could James Conner be the NFL's leading rusher after the first game of the season??

No disrespect intended Scunge, Players individual stats are meaningless especially when their team loses. Unless fantasy football status is why you'd post that.
