Yeah, this is dumb. If it were my business, it's simply "no politics". Feel free to use your own celebrity and own personal time to promote your causes....but gameday is not the place for it.

Then take the politics out of the workplace, owners!

no anthem, no problem

Exactly! we don't need the anthem! I DVR every game, so I can fast forward past all the pregame CRAP including the anthem, WE DON'T NEED IT! and every game doesn't have to be a tribute to "the troops" either. Honor some teachers or EMTs sometimes instead.

Some of us like the anthem, Nick...both on TV and in-person.

NFL, players agree to suspend controversial national anthem policy

The National Football League and the players association said in a joint statement Thursday that it has made the decision to freeze the controversial national anthem protest policy. Two months ago, the league announced players must stand for the anthem or remain in the locker while it’s performed. Now, the policy has been suspended to allow “constructive dialogue to continue.”

It's incredible how bad the NFL is at figuring this shit out.

Their policies are 100% reactive with absolutely no forethought for future ramifications.

Like every hospital... Ever...

The NFL has contributed to their own problem in this one. Money is the sole motivation here. The players know it, we know it and the NFL knows it. Just return to the practices of leaving every team in the locker room as the Anthem is played. That way players can protest all they want without the cameras, in the privacy of their locker room. Problem Solved!

Obviously players that participate in these actions don't give a shit about what their franchises and/or fans think. Their selfish actions speak louder than any words can. Players have shown their loyalty to their franchises and fans by thinking of themselves first. As a Fan I say, protest all you want; outside of the uniform and national television.
