Good for him. Although I haven't played madden in years, and likely won't pick up this one.

Not in recent years

Madden 13: Calvin Johnson - set the NFL record for receiving yards in a season
Madden 14: Adrian Peterson - 1,400 total yards and 11 TDs
Madden 15: Richard Sherman - named first team All-Pro
Madden 16: Odell Beckham Jr - 1,300 yards, 10 TDs. 2nd team All-Pro
Madden 17: Rob Gronkowski - Missed half the season due to injury, Pats win Super Bowl
Madden 18: Tom Brady - Named league MVP

4 of the last 6 cover athletes had great years. AP had a slightly down year, but that was after an historic season in 2012. Gronk was really the only one with a bad year.

If he's on the Madden cover, but the stock market goes up, meaning an original NFL team will win the SuperBowl, do the two superstitions cancel each other out if we play the Seahawks (an original AFC team) in the SB?

I need an answer, because this is going to be keeping me up at night.

Hadn't realized that. I feel better for having read it. And Nick, in every realm of my life other than sports, I agree.

I guess the only one I believe in, is if your team is named "Cleveland"! Yes they did barely win the NBA in '16, but how can you have LeBron for so many years and win only one? Even at that the results where barely good and they had to win the last 3 games of a seven game series to do that! LOL!

Actually, in Seattle's first year in the NFL, 1976, they were in the NFC before switching to the AFC.
