Guessing it's a missed test. Slap on the wrist. This entire caper is crap.

We've already used the draft pick we got for him.

How are they going to reverse that?

No- regardless of the timing, the Steelers don't get dinged by this unless it comes out they knew of the violation before they made the trade.

Also...they will go hard on Bryant, not easy.

Raiders knew what they were getting.
I’m pretty sure all trades are league approved before they are completed.
Steelers have no problems here...

Habitual, repeat offender. This won’t be a “wrist slap”. Guy might be done.

If Bryant missed or failed another drug test, it’s a sad situation because he was looking good in Raiders OTAs and would be a productive player for them.

The fact that all Bryant ever did was smoke weed is indicative that pro sports is behind public opinion in its punishments for weed. But Bryant knows the rules. Lastly these reports of a failed test are not confirmed yet.

For what it's worth:

There is some issue with Martavis Bryant, but it’s not clear if it’ll cause a delay (like last year before camp), a quick fix via paperwork or a suspension. All was well when Bryant met at the NFL Offices in late April.

That "all was well" comment pretty much confirms that the Steelers have nothing to worry about.

To me it's not sad. It's funny. The guy isn't hooked on opioids. Not to mention him spouting off against teammates on twitter. This couldn't have happened to a better guy.

That was kind of my point. I don't think the trade could have happened if he had already failed, nor can I really see how PIT would have knowledge of a pending failure. If that were the case, PIT would just forfeit it's 2019 R3 pick - Roger makes all this shit up as he goes along.

Also, I was thinking about Bell and figuring there might be some justifiable reasons for a missed test seeing as how he's just switched teams and moved. If it's just a missed test, he'll probably get a few games but he's not getting the book thrown at him.

I wished we kept him..now it appears wise we moved him.. what an idiot..
I think he may have had a chance in Pittsburgh; but not in the wild wild west were the weed flows legally everywhere..like putting a drunk in charge of the beer kegs at hooters..

If this violation came up before he was traded, yeah I could see the Raiders having a problem with that.....

They could argue that he smoked WHILE he was a Steeler.

Who knows, but until it comes out yeah, it matters.

If th violation would have come up while he was a steeler, the league would have known about and would have told the raiders before approving the trade.

When the trade was announced, even a Bryant-lover like myself thought it was a great move thinking that no matter how talented Martavious may be that he would sulk & be a distraction as the 3rd option at wr. The fact that the pick was used to possibly get the qb of the future was just icing on the cake. Now with a pending suspension of who knows how long, the trade for a 3rd round pick looks like a brilliant move.

The way I look at it, his decisions and actions cost this team 3 high picks.

What could have been as the 4th "B"..

Good riddance.

Three high picks? Seems to me, on the whole, we got better than we gave. I don't disagree in the slightest with the rest of the post.

Referring to Coates (3rd), Schuster (2nd), and Washington (2nd). All are tied to him. If he maintained his role as a solid 2 and not messed up, they would have been used elsewhere instead of for WR damage control. He had 9 lives worth of chances, IMO.

Edit: I can concede on the Washington pick, because Martavis might have not been here this year because of what would have been free agency for him had he not been suspended.

Luckily James Harrison cannot be fined and suspended next season. That must really make Roger the Clown upset.

I think most are more than happy to have JuJu over this bonehead, thank you...

What are you talking about? A missed test is a failed test. There is no lightweight punishment. Bells was lighter because he hadn't repeated like Bryant. He wasnt at the same severity level. Bryant will be facing a year, if not continual suspension pending application for readmission.

And now it's being reported it isn't for a failed or missed test. It might be failing to meet a counselor or clinician or something...

That's what I'm thinking. Which is still incredibly stupid on his part given the stakes.

If he didn't adhere to what was spelled out in the terms of his reinstatement from last year he could definitely be suspended again.
