Pa is charging a 10M upfront fee and 34% of betting revenue. Other states charge 10% and under. Pa isn't going to get sports betting anytime soon.

Really, who cares. Gambling is a fool's errand IMHO.

Looks like the sage wisdom that brought us State Stores is in effect for gambling.

When Pa sees the train pull out of the station and they are not on it. they could change their tune in a hurry. Greedy pols looking for more pork gravy.

NY lawmakers are working on a bill with 8.5% take and an integrity fee for the teams. Betting would be through the casinos.

Thus begins the race to the bottom. The next state will be 7.5 then lower and lower. All the gambling will flock to the state with the lowest take.

Anything that raises revenue without raising taxes will be jumped on. It's found money. The pressure will be on the NFL to go to 18 games to have more betting take. The players will get on board for higher salaries. CTE who?

The NY bill allows for mobile betting but you have to go to a casino first and set up an account. Then your good to go.

Small bets on the Steelers make the games interesting but you don't want to get addicted and ruin your life.

It's very similar to pot...legalizing is the right thing to do in a free country, but there will be some adverse consequences.

Actually, Steelers games are the only ones that don't need action to be interesting.

Maybe Mike Tomlin is on the take and that ensures all of the "easing in"

I guess the good news is that PS are immune to point shaving accusations because they seldom cover anyway under Tomlin.

Anyone have stats complication on how taking PS opponents and the points would have worked out in the Tomlin era?

When I was in Lewes, DE a couple years ago I noticed they had NFL parlay betting of some sort in the convenience stores. That surprised me.

We've had pickems for years. Can get em all over the place. Most folks I know pick up at least a few hundred bucks a season playing them.
