It's time for this year's entries into the ongoing contest, where we try to pick better drafts than the Steelers.

Select 1 player at each draft spot who was available at that spot. Add 13 UDFAs, if you like. You can submit two versions: one with the trade up for Rudolph and one as if that had not happened.

Version 1: 1.28, 2.60, 3.76, 3.92, 5.148, 5.165, 7.246 + 13 UDFA
Version 2: 1.28, 2.60, 3.79, 3.92, 5.148, 5.165, 7.220, 7.246 + 13 UDFA
I'll post a sample entry for each in the replies.

Results from two years ago are here:

Results from last year are here:

So I can prove once again I stink at this :-) This one is for the points. Would the Steelers take a kicker in the 5th? no way but I think he will get more points than any other player lower.
1.28: Harold Landry OLB
2.60 Justin Reid S
3.79 Oren Burks LB
3.92 Harrison Phillips DT
5.148 Genard Avery LB
5.165 Daniel Carlson K
7.220 Quentin Poling LB
7.246 Skai Moore, LB

1.28: Harold Landry OLB
2.60 Justin Reid S
3.79 Oren Burks LB
3.92 Harrison Phillips DT
5.148 Genard Avery LB
5.165 Marquez Valdes-Scantling WR <- this is who I would take
7.220 Quentin Poling LB
7.246 Skai Moore, LB

I was guessing by the Pro Football Reference ranks at the end of the year per player.

Well, that’s not a shameful effort on my part. But based on careful analysis of available data, this year my picks will be...exactly whoever Ice takes.

Perch you are a creature of habit. I believe this is the exact response you gave to the original post.

I decided to use Profootballreference.com's Career Approximate Value. It's not perfect, but it does a decent job of comparing players. Basically, it uses a team's success on the unit on which the player participates, and it weights that performance by number of snaps and every piece of statistical data for that player that is among the ones tracked by the league.

Full explanation here:

top 25 Career AV of all time (unweighted, so length of career peak is a factor):
