He claims he was Superman before he broke his foot last year. He was actually Lois Lane. Fake facts from that lying POS. No vet min for him.

I agree. When we're talking about missed tackles, poor angles and the ability to dance and celebrate after a routine tackle that all defenders make in a game every Sunday. I don't care what that silly dumbass says on twitter. A broken foot does not account for missing tackles since when tackling, the player primarily implements their upper body. As far as the poor angle(s) go? How would a broken foot impact your direct line of defense? A broken foot doesn't influence the angle in which a defender takes. Really? Is that what it's come to? That's a new one I haven't heard before. Also, I imagine the dancing and celebrating after a routine tackle that every 'decent' defender makes in games may have been impeded a little with the broken foot. So, there's that...

I’ll remember Neil O’Donnell more fondly than Mike Mitchell as time goes by....

He must've had that broken foot for a few years then too! Right?

This is exactly why dude is unemployed. Instead of owning up to his athleticism falling behind a step or two he comes up with a silly excuse. Retire already....

He's obviously has mental problems. Anybody that consistently celebrates tackles 15 yards down field when you're getting your ass kicked isn't right in the head.

Oh, he obviously has mental problems. Anybody who goes to Jax's locker room an hour before kickoff and is talking trash isn't right in the head. I will be forever thankful to Mitchell for doing that, I think that was the last straw for the Steelers. Your veteran safety, one of the leaders of the defense does that and then pairs that up with poor play on the field? It punched his ticket out of Pittsburgh, I knew he played his last game for the Steelers.

I can't believe that there are some who think we might resign him to a vet minimum deal. No, I don't see that happening, he is done, he is a bad influence on and off the field.

It really is amazing how we have transformed the safety position in just one year's time.

Gone are Mike Mitchell, Robert Golden and JJ Wilcox. You can even sort of throw Willie Gay in there too, as he did play some big safety, nickel linebacker snaps. I think people got too focused on replacing Shazier with an ILB prospect and couldn't see the forest for the trees, couldn't see one of the real reasons for our poor play on defense in critical times last year.

We were just really poor at tackling and covering in 3rd down situations. Those safeties we had out there just were not getting the job done. Even if Shazier was healthy, the defense was not going to improve with Mitchell, Gay, Golden, Wilcox on the team. Teams were targeting those individuals and picking up first downs, picking up touch downs.

We have got to come up with a better name for 'sub package defense'!! Any ideas?

If by Superman he meant Jimmy Olsen then I agree he was Superman.

Good post Scunge. Mitchell was playing Grand Theft Football. Nobody's jumping to sign him. He's still trying for that commentator's gig.
