Deep threat, can play inside or outside, high points the ball, plays faster than his 40 time.

What do we think?

Sorry for the dip- it appeared no one was posting this.

Saw about 4 or 5 OK St games this year and was always impressed with the guy. I wish he was a bit taller but he is pretty thick in the lower body.

I can't believe we came so close to having Guice left on the board, if Washington doesn't take him I think he might have been the pick.

Regardless, love the pick, he will be great as a rookie and be that vertical deep threat.

I'm liking the pick. Steelers have a knack for picking good/great WR's. This kid is a crazy athlete with track speed to boot who can out jump a DB and get the ball. We did great with our 2nd RD Wr last year. Hopefully lightning strikes twice.

Does he? That 4.54 is slow.

Same as JuJu. Didn't seem to affect his big play ability.

This was my favorite player in college football last year, he’s a great deep threat and wins contested catches

He has 35” arms which is ridiculous

His QBs had a 133 QBs rating throwing to him on contested catches. He is a combat catcher and uses his body and long arms well

He was the fastest times player at the senior bowl running around 22 mph. Fuck the forty fine, his play speed is elite. Watch his tape.

Second leading WR in Big 12 history.

He plays the Z in the offense. Takes off the top without the drama and the weed. Allows JuJu to be physical, in the slot.

I’m happy. Ben is too.

And your point is that means everyone plays faster than their forty times?

AB has a work ethic that is other worldly....

AB just had a bad 40 that day. I think he might have run 4.45 at his pro day. Claimed a few years ago he worked and got it down to 4.35.

I seem to think Bryant got clocked a few times around 22mph in games.

He won me over when I stopped thinking about him as a deep threat and started thinking of him as Hines Ward 2.0. He will definitely fit right in.

Hines Ward with wheels would probably be 1st ballot.

As Perch stated this WR has an unusual length and elite skill set bundled in a 5'11 frame, 40 time be damned. Honestly, I was hoping for Lorenzo Carter there. I see the gints took him this round along with BJ Hill. Fuck you gints.

My point is two-fold, and you made one of them. First, timed speed in the forty-yard dash is not the only thing that matters. Second, a 4.5 forty time is plenty fast enough. See, e.g., AB84; JJSS, Joe Haden.

James looks strong as fuck. He's built so damn solid. I think that is why his speed in pads seems so superior. This is a solid pick with an extremely low bust factor.

Looks like a great pick. Should be easy transition. It was mentioned that we are good at picking WRs...I think Mann was a great coach and had some sort of high caliber mini system within the team. Hopefully Drake can keep it going.

I posted this elsewhere, maybe Drake can keep Mann’s legacy going and Bradley can build a legacy like Mann’s with the secondary.

As mentioned JW not only highpoints the ball he wide points it too. Full extension of his arms as needed and seems to have veteran NFL body control and toe tap ability already.

Damn he is explosive. He reminds me of a faster version of Boldin. Ben is going to love this toy.

Mayock and Rapsheet both said Guice interviewed poorly and had character issues. The Steelers are clearly emphasizing character with their recent high draft picks. Can’t have a team of choir boys but no way they were taking Guice after trading away arguably the player with worst character on the team creating an obvious need for a deep ball receiver.

Guice can play but I believed the plan even before trading Bryant was to continue to run the wheels off Bell even if for just one more year with below average talent behind him and that’s exactly how the draft has played out.

Where I was very wrong was believing the defense would receive the bulk of the attention. Obviously the trade of Bryant put an even higher priority on WR. Washington easiest prediction I can ever remember making when Steelers on clock. Solid choice.

The Rudolph pick doesn’t bother me now but if Ben plays 3,more years as he’s stated it will.

Hate the offensive tackle selection. I understand it but hate it
