Quote:
Terrell Edmunds*, S, Virginia Tech
Height: 6-0. Weight: 217. Arm: 32.75. Hand: 10.5.
40 Time: 4.47.
Projected Round (2018): 1-3.
4/25/18: Some team sources tell me they think that Edmunds is a very underrated prospect and have him as a high second-rounder. Others have him late in Round 2 or early in Round 3.

Edmunds hasn't gotten as much attention as his brother Tremaine Edmunds, but NFL sources have told WalterFootball.com that Terrell Edmunds really impressed them as well. Edmunds has good size to be an NFL safety and displayed coverage skills the past few seasons. Edmunds played well in 2017 with 59 tackles, two interceptions and four passes broken up. As a sophomore, he totaled 89 tackles, four interceptions and three passes broken up. Sources say they see Terrell Edmunds grading out as a second-day prospect for the 2018 NFL Draft. He had a strong combine performance to help himself.

In pass coverage, Edmunds is a talented player. Edmunds shows an impressive ability to run with receivers downfield and maintain close coverage. Few defenders with a strong safety build can run with receivers like Edmunds can. He lines up against slot receivers and runs the route while also running with them downfield. In zone coverage, Edmunds covers a lot of ground and picks up targets coming into his area. He breaks on the ball quickly and tracks it well downfield. Edmunds has ball skills to break passes up and intercept the ball. Occasionally, Edmunds can take some missed steps in coverage and is stiff. Thus, he's better off as a strong safety but that can contribute in coverage

GAAAAHHHH, I can't believe they picked him! I threw my tv out the window! This sucks! Fuck you, Colbert and Tomlin for ruining and pussifying the Steelers!

(Um....who's Terrel Edmunds?)

Seriously, where is all the discussion about this guy? Is everyone in the draft chat?

Once I saw that the crybitches took LVE I was relieved. When the Tits took Evans I was pissed. As Edmunds (ILB) fell to 15 (Bills) I was hoping the Steelers would trade up to get him. No, of course not. As Derwin James fell to 16 (LAC) I was hoping the Steelers were going to trade up for him. No, of course not!

Edmunds is a Reach?!

I’m not a draftnik and I know nothing of this dude. 6’2” 220; like his size. Another Tomlin Virginia boy?

Guess this means they don’t like our situation at safety. I didn’t really either.

Still not happy about the Bryant trade.

6'01/2. Not 6'2. 3rd RND was where I had him ranked. Tells you I know nothing as well.

And seeing Shazier walk was an added bonus.

I was getting excited with the 6’2”....thinking he might be the tallest Safety ever. Apparently not, but it would be nice if we got some height at safety for once.

I love the player and of course was great to see Shazier introduce him.

Last year Watt and Juju= high character football junkies

This year added tremendous high character kid in Edmunds who lives for football
and subtracted poor character in Bryant.

Good draft night for me. I enjoyed it.

Great to see him walk with his babe. Really depressing as a fan that we’ve lost a tremendous talent.

Both Tomlin and Colbert said this was their highest rated guy. You could tell in the presser they really like everything about him. Hard not to feel good about the pick after hearing how they talked about him. I bet he plays a lot of that hybrid linebacker spot in the nickel. They beefed up safety in the draft and FA. Hopefully they find a gem at ILB tomorrow to do the same at that position.

I have to agree Drama. Now to turn that extra 3rd into a difference maker for this team going forward.

I like the player...I really like the player.

I think the Steelers could have moved down 5-8 spots and still selected Edmunds

Sean Davis I believe you should be on notice sir

He is big 6-1 220 ish
He is fast 4.47
He can make plays on the ball
2016 he was a cement truck tackler
Had shoulder surgery in 2017...He is cleared
Steelers love the kid

One of my favorite player in the draft...Great character on and off the field...He fits the mentality of the city

I believe the Steelers over valued the player...It could have been so much worse

A better pick in the 2nd

Can’t they ever trade back?

Forget trading back if you have a player you covet and he's the highest rated guy on your board and you're on the clock make the pick. He played HS football 30 min up the road from me.

Good point. This is key. They are clearly targeting high character and dumping the bad eggs. Tomorrow makes or breaks the draft.

Does Lev Bell get moved next? Maybe to the Browns for both their high 2nd rounders?? :D

He just turned 21.

6' 1"
217 lbs
32 3/4” arms
41.5 inch vertical

I liked the player a lot coming in but thought he was a 2nd rounder. They think he's a very smart kid who can learn quickly. It is true that he is more of a downhill player than Bates, but he still showed the ability to turn and run. He also played man-to-man well in the film I saw.

In the end, they must have thought Bates was going to be too fragile for the NFL. If Terrell keeps learning and develops more instincts, the sky is the limit for the kid.

You can put this guy immediately in sub-packages and he can cover slot, TE, or play deeper. Nice toy for the D.

I like the lad, I really do but this is a reach. I believe they could've taken Landry and packaged a 3rd to move up in 2nd and still gotten Edmunds.

AFCN, in general, had a piss poor night. Rats took Jackson and how they got him and where is frankly downright bizarre. They take him at 25 and wait until pick in 2nd they get HH no bother. Instead? They panic take HH and then give up a ton to get back in first ( 2nd x 2 and a 4th).

Browns well they Brownsed. I'm chuckling picturing their garden gnome trying to throw in the wind.

Bengals took a meh center, not terrible but in 1st?

Then with Landry, Reid, Bates, Guise and Michel on board? Steelers delivered a FU. Hope lad excels but have to question where Colbert took him.

Agree - should had at least got multiple picks

To be fair, I do believe that is likely why they didn't do the usual sprint to the podium, however, Landry was the pick there. As I stated, package 3rd and move up in 2nd to get him. If they get Anthony Miller tomorrow I'll happily STFU.
