With that defense, I’m no so sure.

Exactly.

With that defense, you could bring Trent Dilfer back from the dead and they'd have a shot.

Their current QB is damn good anyway.

The thought of Fraudlin trying to match wits with McVay is scary.

They have very sketchy edge rushers and Goff is still not really a clutch guy that can make plays in pressure games.

OBJ for drafts picks??? Not so sure the Pats can afford his next contract. People "nut" all over OBJ and to me, he hasn't really busted thru or won me over yet. But the money will be thrown at him.

I was thinking Mason Rodolph was the pick for the Pats now at 23. No more 1st round QB to the Steelers talk, is my guess.

I wouldn’t be so sure...Aviators was all over Lamar Jackson at the Louisville pro day...

This means we do not get one of our defensive players fall to us.

NE could take LVE.

NE could take Justin Reid.

That means LVE, Evans, Reid and Bates could all be off the board before we pick at 28.

But that is okay to me, I want a damn RB!!!

One can only hope Evans is off the board.
All the better if the stiff goes to NE...

But I doubt B.B. makes that error.

I agree completely with you Jobus Rum!!

Evans to me look like a real small player. You look at the upper half of his body, he has narrow shoulders and short arms, his upper half looks like that of a cornerback. He is a shade under 6'2" and weighs 232 and I think he is maxed out, there is nowhere for him to add weight. Then you look at his 40 time or lack thereof, what is he hiding? I think he is hiding a slow 4.75-4.8 40. He did run a 4.36 short shuttle at the combine which is terrible, he did jump at the combine, and that 30 inches for the vertical is terrible too.

I see him as another Jarvis Jones type. A terrible athlete who had some production in college because of the scheme and talent around him. Just like with Jones, I saw highlight after highlight of Evans where he is coming up and making a big tackle or sack and he is literally untouched. Well, shit, maybe I could have played at 'Bama too if I could just run around untouched and never had to fight off a block.

I would not touch him in the first 3 rounds.

I'm not impressed at all with cooks and quite frankly don't understand all the hype for this guy. A first round selection for a guy who was essentially invisible last season in cheatland is a huge steal for the cheats. lambs are either stupid or desperate. Likely a little of both. JMO

Side Note: If your trading away your 65 receptions for 1000+ yard WR that you traded for just last season, what's really going on? Damaged Goods?

Last year proved to me that Sean McVay is a great coach. That thing of talking in Goff’s ear until they shut off the headset was great. In the postseason Goff was a significant reason they didn’t advance— just isn’t a guy to make clutch plays vs great defense. I think there will be a leveling off of Goff’s play this year, and he will continue to be a nice regular season player.

Pats tried to work a deal with him, it was going nowhere so they cut bait.

You can most definitely win with him as your QB...and i agree McVay is a great coach.

I agree with Steelafan, I have never been impressed with Cooks. So, now he is working on his 3rd team in as many years.

I think people need to simmer down about McVay, it is real easy to look great in year one, there is not a book on you yet, you catch everybody by surprise. Remember Chip Kelly's first season?

McVay seems hungry, innovative, not content with resting on his laurels.

Basically the opposite of our dumbass coach. Oh, did someone want me to turn this into a Tomlin-bashing thread?

I'm no Tomlin fan, but giving up a 1st for Cooks is pretty dumb.

How can anyone call a guy a "great coach" after one year? The Rams have high day one or day talent all over that roster. They were playing with a 3rd place schedule and the 17th weakest strength of schedule in the league. Dude has no laurels to rest on because he has done nothing other than to take Jeff Fischer's players and get them to produce.

Really going to be interesting to see how this year goes, they have essentially the 80s Raiders on defense. They just collected every problem player they can get their hands on and put what amounts to a substitute teacher in charge of them- how is this NOT going to blow up in their faces? Suddenly Peters and Suh and Talib are going to be model citizens? Don't hold your breath. This will be a powder keg that everyone hopes goes off- because it will make great drama (it is LA after all) .

I will go on record and say if they do not win the division or make the Conference championship game McVay will be fired.

The best thing McVay did was bring in Wade Phillips to coach his defense. That was huge. Phillips will have no problem with Talib, they were together in Denver after all. In fact Phillips more than any DC out there is able to squeeze the best out of every player he has ever had, just a fact. He is able to come in cold, and turn around a defense in his first year with no effort at all.

I see the offense falling back down to earth, McVay's bread and butter. Defenses will adjust to what he was doing last year, just as team's adjusted to Chip Kelly and his offenses.

And once again some team falls all over themselves to give the Pats a first round pick for a player who's not worth it. Seriously, WTF is wrong with these teams?

It’s like they go brain dead when they pick up and hear Belicheck on the other end of the line...
