A Rb who has homerun hitting ability who can double as a return man. They really need a future replacement for Bryant who playing his last season probably in round 5. The first two rounds need to be playmakers and still think Ilb if Evans or Esch is there or A true FS like Reid.

In the following order. Not necessarily the order you draft them.

1) Edge rusher who can contribute in the sub package right away and spell Dupree (who wore down last year)
2) ILB who can cover (and stay on the field)
3) Centerfielder or boundary corner (to kick Sutton to centerfield)
4) Space eating NT to platoon with Hargrave to keep both from wearing down
5) Sproles-like RB as insurance on Bell
6) Home run WR to replace Bryant in 2019
7) Dynamic TE to replace James in 2019
8) Guard to replace Foster in 2019

As far as RB... I don't think we could get a homerun type on the field enough considering Bell is a 3 down back. I actually think Conner is the perfect back to give Bell a rest for a few series a game. He is the exact opposite, he hits the hole fast and hard and runs with a purpose. I didn't like the pick, especially that early, but once he started playing I was very impressed. I am not a Pitt fan and not bias at all.

I think it would be hard to get homerun type RB enough touches to break a big one with our skilled players on offense.

I agree about that cover ILB and think they add that NT in round 7.
I agree about that WR that we seem to agree.

Do you like the Fla St edge rusher?

I think “wore down” is being very generous.

Guy looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

And not cuz he was tired.

I’m holding out hope he has a breakout year.

Time is running out

There a tree these types of RB's grow on? I think every team wants a RB like you've described.

Joking aside, 58 you hit the nail on the head. The RB position is wide open behind Bell. Once Bell leaves via FA the Steelers have no one 'proven'. Conner wasn't that impressive in his spot duty. Fitzgerald Toussaint couldn't even break into the roster with Stevan Ridley playing better. Ridley of course is gone. You get the jist. After a knee injury sidelined Conner and Ridley who filled in [nicely IMO] is no gone, I fully agree and think RB in the second day of the draft is a real possibility. Penny would be perfect but I seriously doubt he lasts too far into the second round. Thinking Penny won't make it to pick 60. Perhaps Ballage, Walton, Johnson or Hines in the 3rd RND?

I don’t dislike him lol

My problem with him is he has 3rd round production and a 1st round combine. I like Harold Landry a lot. Hoping there is value at the edge position on day 2 like lorenzo carter or something

Ogbonniah Okoronkwo or Lorenzo Carter in round 2. LVE or Evans round 1. Plenty of 3rd round safety prospects. NT in the 7th round, I agree. RB with one of the 2 fifth rounders. WR in the 5th. Do not think they will take a TE in this draft. UDFA or late round G. I think they like Finney and think he can replace Foster next year.

He fails one of the most important metrics for a player...at least when it comes to talent evaluation on our board.

Haven't heard from Ron in a long time, we should be good.

Ron was gloating on twitter about his name theory.

Okoronkwo might get a pass, though, because his parents are actual Africans. Ron's theory hinges on "parents being dumb enough to name their kid" with a nontraditional name.

Guessing Ogbonnia qualifies as a traditional name in Nigeria.

I wish I liked Okoronkwo better as a player; great story.

Biggest child ever born in the history of the state of Florida, IIRC. 12 pounds.

That'll do some damage to the C gap...

How about a coach with a smidgeon of self-awareness?

The question is will Dupree remain a Steeler much longer. After this season I think he is gone. Some team will throw him a bone. I think the main needs to be addressed going forward are going to be OLB depth, DLine depth, ILB depth, Safety depth, WR depth, RB depth and OLine depth. Not necessarily in that order either.

So this is something to let sink in....

Quote:
@MarkKaboly
Kevin Colbert said Cam Sutton can play corner, nickel and maybe even return punts this year. Didn't mention safety https://twitter.com/MarkKaboly/status/9 ... 2738401280
After the Burnett signing I guess they decided Sutton was a better corner/returner prospect. I couldn't find the thread where this was discussed but IIRC, some folks thought Sutton was the heir apparent once Haden was [about] done with his tour in Pittsburgh.

@MarkKaboly
Colbert said that the Steelers might not be done in free agency. Depends if somebody comes free who they might not expect. https://twitter.com/MarkKaboly/status/9 ... 4902218752
Hmmm....

To me, I think it's either OLB depth or RB depth.... the Steelers need both badly.

WR depth also...they basically have three guys and DHB right now.
