Haven't seen anything about them signing him. They got Nix done, but holy hell - Boswell is worth a hell of a lot more to the team than Nix is. The guy was money all year long and even the year before that. He's been responsible for putting more points on the board than almost every other player on the team! Sign the guy or someone else will walk off with him. Are they going to put a tender on him or a long term deal. Kickers of his ability are getting about $4 mill/year. Anyone hear anything?

Not worried, the free agency period doesn't begin until mid March. They have plenty of time.

Thinking they still have more 'restructures' to perform. Once they get some decent cap relief they'll sign their guys. Boz will be signed. I'm thinking once Mitchell is canned and Wilcox is likely shown the door they can restructure Haden and get some cap relief there. Ben could be a target as well. Especially wanting to play into the 2020's.

Well, I think they are getting their finances in order.

With the DeCastro and Tuitt restructures and with more to follow I think, the Steelers had 4 players to deal with I think, and get deals done.

In no particular order:

Rosie Nix, done, 4 years, $6.975 million. A very nice deal, makes him the 4th highest paid FB in the NFL. When he has been injured, the special teams units have suffered, the run game has suffered. He is a IMO, a Pro Bowl quality special teams performer and those 2 TDs he scored this past season, one on a run and one on a pass, are just a taste of Randy Fitchner and how he uses the FBs in his offense. I have no doubt those plays were influenced by Randy. Is Nix the next Kyle Jusczyk? No, he probably won't catch the ball as much as Kyle does but he will be used more like that, not just a mere blocker anymore.

Levon Bell, will they work out a long term contract or have to put ther franchise tag on him?

Chris Hubbard, will they keep him around with Gilbert being injured, suspended for performance enhancing drugs and bitching about wanting more money? If you have a championship contending team built to win now, do you let a starting caliber RT EVER just walk away? Maybe they sign Hubbard to a 4 year $18-20 million contract with a promise of being the starter in 2019, at which point they trade, cut Gilbert?

Chris Boswell, yeah, he is damn good, and Justin Tucker got $16.8 million, the Cowboys Dan Bailey got over $22. Does Boz and his agent want Tucker money or do they think he deserves Bailey money? My guess, 4 years, $18 million.

A lot of players to get done, a lot of moving parts. Who is to say that they don't have an eye on making a splash in free agency and signing a safety? Maybe they put a second round tender on Boswell, let Hubbard go, workout a long term deal with Bell that has a very friendly cap hit for 2018 and then sign a safety in free agency? Who knows?

But it is more complicated when you have all of these other players and concerns to balance.

They’re doing this just to fuck with Steelerfury.

Art, Mike, and Kevin are grouped around the computer laughing their asses off right now.

They are not going to pay Hubbard $6M to be a backup swing tackle. Cap is way too tight for that. Let him walk and get a decent comp pick.

Yup. Besides it's time for Hawkins to shit or get off the pot. They have to see what they have in Hawkins. With Hubbard gone Hawkins should see a lot of the 3rd TE extra tackle stuff they've been running. Especially in goal line offense. Remember ArtII wants better red zone efficiency.

Is it too much to hope that Neanderthal bullshit left town with Haley?
