9-6-1 we are looking at for Steelers. If Ravens only get to 9-7 we win division and are the 4. If Ravens get to 10-6 hopefully everyone else in AFC stays at 9-7 or worse and we are the 6

4 seed means home game against probably Chiefs or Chargers. Already loss to both at home this year. Chargers will probably have Melvin Gordon back by that time if it is them.

6 seed means going to possibly Houston. Watson first playoff game.

Steelers current home record 3-3. Looking at 4-4 to end season.

Steelers current road record 4-1-1. Looking at 5-2-1 to end season.

Let’s see if we can get past Oakland without a RB first.

I'm just glad Terrelle Pryor isn't playing for them anymore. I still have nightmares about Woodley abandoning contain and letting him run 95 yards or whatever the hell it was. That sucked.

Are steelman and 95 secretly on the team? If not, then why can't a fan look past this weeks game and have a discussion?

I have no problem with it. Just saying it might be a moot point if we lay yet another egg in Oakland.

I’ll be in house Sunday. Hopefully it’s a good day for us on the scoreboard in addition to not having any run ins with idiot Raider fan.

The three losses to Oakland during Ben's time have all been horrific. I question whether the team actually showed up in Oakland for either of those games.

Didnt Gradkowski go off on the Steelers? I also remember the Tebow game where guys on the D were getting injured left and right.

I always seem to think about Cowher’s last year (2-6 start) when they went to OAK and Ben threw it to the other team....4x was it? That was a pathetic effort.

Yes, that was the 2006 game. Week 8. Ben with 4 INT's suffering the effects of his third calamity that year, a concussion in the previous game vs. Atlanta. His other two calamities - motorcycle accident and appendectomy.

The Gradkowski game was in Pittsburgh, Week 13 of the 2009 season. Oakland has been lucky to get the Steelers in their Super Bowl hangover years.

Carson Palmer and Darren McFadden took it to the Steelers in Oakland, Week 3 of the 2012 season, 34-31. Ben was actually very good in this game with 4 TD's and 0 INT's. The defense spit the bit in this one.

The Terrelle Pryor game came in Week 8 of the 2013 season. That 93-yard run, and then Ben with 2 picks.

Last Steeler victory in Oakland was 1995 which was the Raiders' first year back in their old home.

Might have been 5. I was there but the details are foggy. Hit the Jack Daniels pretty hard that day.

Worst Steelers game I’ve been to.

Last however was the Sunday nighter @ Heinz against the Ravens when Ben tossed 5 TDs.

Hoping Sunday is more like that and less like previous Raider debacles.

And to be fair to Ben, the week prior to that 2006 shit show in Oakland he was knocked out cold against Atlanta. Today would have likely landed in concussion protocol and not been allowed to play.

Especially considering he was only a few months removed from bouncing his head off the pavement when he crashed the bike.

Always thought Cowher errored in startinging him against Oakland.

Oh the good ole days.

If we assume that

1 - NE
2 - KC
3 - Houston
4 - Pitt/Ravens
5 - LA
6 - Pitt/Ravens/Broncos/Colts

I think the 6 seed is a better spot.

SD is better than Houston and NE is better than KC.

Potential AFC champ game in LA with the stadium filled with 90% steeler fans

If you feel NE is better than KC then wouldn’t you want the 4 seed if NE is #1?

As a 6 we’d play the #1 in divisional round. So @ NE with them coming off a bye.

I'm actually high on the Chargers... I don't think they're better than Houston. And I damn sure don't think The Pats are better than KC.

Totally agree...HATE being told what's fair to discuss; what's not.

I never said not look and talk about the future games all i am saying we need to win this game first.
The steelers have no luck on the west coast so that why i been saying lets worry about this game first.

I would rather have the 4. And I haven't conceded we're only going 9-6-1 either.

Ya. And I wasn’t telling anyone what to discuss either. Just saying if we can’t beat a 2 win team at this point in the season does making the playoffs even matter?

When I first saw Rooney's post, I thought it was a no-brainer, silly question...of course, we would rather have 4-seed, get the home game.

Now...not so sure. Playing Houston on the road does sound better than hosting KC or San Diego. Win the first game, going to be a tossup of which team, New England or AFC West winner, will be the #1 seed. Unlike some of my esteemed colleagues here, Foxboro is the last place I want Steelers to go for a playoff game.

You think the Steelers would have a better chance to win in Foxboro than in Arrowhead?

No, but that's more because of shenanigans. Furthermore, if Houston can get above NE in standings (fairly likely), then we'll never see NE, because NE is not going into Houston and winning this year.

I think you play the rest of the games and see what you get... but I'll take at least one game at home and see what happens.
